As coaches, we bear a tremendous responsibility. WE DON’T JUST COACH FOOTBALL. 🏈 We coach DECISIONS. We coach CHOICES. We coach CONSEQUENCES. We coach RESPECT. We coach how young men carry themselves when nobody is watching. We coach LIFE on and off the field. 💯🔥

BCE = Blaming. Complaining. Excusing. It kills teams faster than any opponent. Be accountable. Be responsible. Be the cure, not the disease.

Mediocre performers let circumstances dictate their attitude and effort. Elite athletes stick to their vision, their process, no matter the conditions. Your standards don’t change based on who you play, the score, or how you feel. If you want to be great… it takes what it takes.

Parents who see that cultivating mental toughness in kids can give them a huge advantage in life are on to something big. They understand that every time their child sticks it out when times get tough, they improve their odds of success in life. Adversity is coming. How they respond to it may be up to you. Reminds me of the old saying “Prepare the child for the path, not the path for the child”.

Kids are like a bank account. You have to make deposits in their life before you can take out withdrawals. They respond best to those who have invested time and true interest in them.

Youth sports isn’t dying from lack of talent. It’s dying from overload. No free play, rest, recovery, off-seasons. Too many showcases & tournaments. Not enough development. Parent ego + social media pressure fuel the fire. We don’t need more exposure. We need better environments.

Youth sports did more damage to the Black community than crack in the 80s.

35 D3 programs in New England. Some states barely have any. If you want to extend your career, you might have to leave home. We have real options. Public and private. Financial Aid/scholarships are available. Most players aren’t D1.
That doesn’t mean football has to end.

Players with bad attitudes often gravitate toward others with bad attitudes because they love to remind each other why it's everyone else's fault. Don’t be a cancer. Be a great teammate.

#CollegeFootballRecruiting Been recruiting student athletes, had my own children recruited, been a high school coach helping lads be recruited. My advice, figure out who loves your game, who has your major, which coach you can stand, what you can afford! Then, make a decision!
