@R1dack1415 @BigHossHawth02 Again
As one would reasonably expect
English

@BigHossHawth02 @CoachBWarning Plenty of D3 teams have a good starter
A few solid arms
But when you look at a 3 game series . D1 are rolling out stuff all weekend .
D3 pens are rough
English

@R1dack1415 @BigHossHawth02 Yes one could make a very reasonable conclusion there would be a difference in data between a D1 player and a D3 player
Not controversial
English

@CoachBWarning @BigHossHawth02 Yea , it shows a vast difference in stuff and offensive authority
English

@R1dack1415 @BigHossHawth02 That’s a completely separate discussion that involves a ton of variables
English

@BigHossHawth02 @CoachBWarning I look at trackman data all the time for my job 😉
You should see the differences btw D1 and D3
English

@CoachLynn_BSB This is easier to do now. I don’t represent a school anymore d don’t have to worry about an AD or other admins trying to muzzle me!
English

@CoachBWarning Played for national champ Juco. During a recruiting trip a P4 coach told our skipper he wouldn’t schedule us if his life depended on it. dawgs at every level
English

@R1dack1415 There’s D3 teams full of what I would consider to be very good players- they’ve all developed at their own pace and may not have been ready for another level out of high school. I coached D2 as well. Tons of great teams and players. Plenty of bad ones as well.
English

@CoachBWarning Yes D2 is great baseball
D3 each team has a few good players
English

@R1dack1415 Wasn’t trying to put them in the same mix- other than the fact they are both non D1 options. Was pointing out that both tournaments are running concurrently this weekend- so a chance to see play at both levels.
English

@CoachBWarning Trying to put D3 in the same mix as D2 is a disrespectful to D2
English

@CraigStem I think most coaches would admit it’s a tough balance between getting guys in and making sure your team is in the best chance to win. For example, it might be 10–14 days between appearances because of past performance and you’re trying to find a low leverage spot to use him in
English

A lot of college arms with bad BB/9 numbers have a lot better command than you would think.
The biggest problem for a lot of these guys is they don't see the game mound often enough because their coach does not trust them. They often go 10-14 days between game appearances.
Command is all about your direction and your timing. The timing piece is what changes in a game. There is no true way to replicate game adrenaline other than being in a game. Haven't pitched in 2 weeks? I wouldn't expect your command to be dialed. Your college coach does though. Now, every outing feels like life and death. It's a tough situation to be in and tough to get out of that
English

@PghPennStateDad Guy works or used to work at a prep school. He can’t sell the value of the prep school if it doesn’t ultimately result in a scholarship for Johnny at the end of the rainbow. D3 and non athletic money doesn’t fit the narrative
English

Tell me you’ve never spent a minute in D3 without ever having spent a minute understanding how D3s operate
Alixon Herrera-Martinez@alixonmartinez2
I’m not against D3 programs… I’m against recreational baseball asking you to pay $45k + for “an experience” Don’t be stupid.. if you are somewhat “good”… then, go juco..!! Simple.. GO JUCOOO!!
English

@CoachBWarning The D2 South Regional going on at UWF, in Pensacola, is worth the price of admission.
English

@alixonmartinez2 In what way?
It’s an exchange like any other market place; nothing is for free.
Remember these are supposed to be students first- exchange $ in the form f tuition
School then provides teachers, resources, etc to educate in exchange for the $
English

@CoachBWarning The model takes advantage of the hard work of the student athlete…
English

Nobody is hating on JUCO
JUCO makes sense for many athletes- just like D3, D2, NAIA, etc. Bashing one level of play you’ve never experienced beyond hearing “how much it costs for school” makes zero sense and you should know that
Alixon Herrera-Martinez@alixonmartinez2
People hating on Juco Route… Is everything ok? Juco is a great opportunity for many athletes… the majority of 4 year coaches recruit Juco players.. Juco is designed to weed out the weak, the undisciplined, the non serious players..
English

@BigHossHawth02 We were pretty well taken care of. That just seems to be the stigma in general lol
English

@alixonmartinez2 Because it’s the model they’ve chosen. The levels of the NCAA are determined by investment level- always have, always will. D3 has an academic oriented mission- and still offers athletics.
English

@CoachBWarning Look.. a student-athlete’s life is very hard.. these schools are making BANK on kids.. selling “an experience” it’s like the summer ball team costing you 15k just to be on the team.
Why can’t they award athletic scholarships? There is no monetary incentive..
English

@dublinbats01 Of course
It’s a narrative driver- a sales pitch.
English

@CoachBWarning That guy yesterday was pretty interesting. I like how he railed on the cost of D3 and conveniently left out that he coaches at one of those fancy New England prep schools that usually cost between $20 and $80k per year.
English

@dublinbats01 Sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know. But when it’s available to go educate yourself on what it actually looks like, it’s willfully ignorant to not acknowledge it and continue to parrot a false narrative
English

@CoachBWarning Bingo. It's really funny to read the D3 takes. There are some clueless people out there. Maybe we're just spoiled, having four of the top D3 programs in the entire nation in Ohio.
