Cooper Lutkenhaus celebrated his 800m yesterday the same way many American high schoolers celebrate a good race: his parents took him to McDonald’s. Though most high schoolers aren’t wearing a World Championship gold medal while they eat their Big Macs. letsrun.com/news/2026/03/c…

🗽 Meet organizers announced Cooper Lutkenhaus, the high school phenom who broke the U18 800m world record in 1:42.27 last year, will headline the men's 600m at the Millrose Games on Feb. 1st at The Armory in New York City. At last year's meet, he broke the U.S. high school 800m record with a 1:46.86 run against professionals. The 600m indoor world record was set last month in 1:12.84 by Josh Hoey at Boston University's season opener. Will Sumner and Isaiah Jewett, who went 1–2 in last year's 600m at the Millrose Games in 1:14.04 and 1:14.17, will also be back.
