@Supertec3226 Yes, but IMO the intense work at the beginning of the season should be long rest and alactic. This stimulates the musculoskeletal system and prepares it for the much needed lactic work later in the season.

Training significantly faster AND slower than race pace early in the season is great preparation for specific work later on. By manipulating volume/intensity, training can blend into specific development after the athlete has made gains on both ends of the spectrum.

#2 Great coaches are not the center of attention; they are facilitators, conductors of the orchestra. They make sure all pieces are in place. They insure that everyone is on the bus in the correct seats and that the bus driver has a good current road map to the destination.

Lest we forget or lose sight of what we are doing in training - You are what you train to be. Train slow & you will be slow, train fast & you will be fast. Change how you train to change how you compete.

Advice to Keyboard Cowboy Training Experts: How can you be an expert? You have not made enough mistakes to know what don't know. Get skin in the game & get your hands dirty. Get out & coach. Easy to be an expert online with no accountability.

It doesn’t matter who it is—if someone on your team crushes it in practice, let them know. Don’t let high performance go unnoticed. The curious effect of this is an environment where game recognizes and encourages game.

Eskoms debt increased by R45bn since 1Q2017 with virtually no revenue growth. This bailout really is like throwing water into a sieve.
