You can train in a sports specific manner while doing things that don't look like the sport - if impact levels, velocities, power outputs, tissue loads, are competition-like, it's sports specific. If sportlike training movements don't achieve this, you're not prepared.

Shortening the range of motion isn’t perfectly ideal, but it’s a much better option than not training at all.

@Ginger_Guns @mboyle1959 Rehab is key A 9 month return with a bad rehab is not set up for success You’re better off with a 7 month return with a great rehab

@mboyle1959 Not saying it’s wrong, but would be interesting to see 1) how many of the surgeons generally worked on younger vs. older patients & 2) how rehab was done (aggressive vs. conservative, sports orthopedic vs not, etc). I’m thankful I did my ACL in college w/ the rehabs I’ve seen…

Using sprinting as a movement screen to get players back quickly, quietly and full of confidence …. @coachrgrubbs 👀👀👀

Nico Collins told @KPRC2 he spent his IR time working on getting faster, has reached 21.89 mph: 'Been working on my speed. Really gave me time to work on myself, get bigger, get faster, get stronger. I’m a 21 miles per hour guy. That’s average for me' click2houston.com/sports/2024/11…

Cool study detailing joint kinetics and moments with respect to different foot strikes. I’ve always found that slower running is ☠️ for ACL-R early on, especially in patella grafts. It’s why I favour a FAST ➡️ FIT approach in RTR. Curious to hear other coaches views?

@Elevate_Rehab_ @timkettenring Competence of implementation is required. It’s easier to just “jog” & acquire total yards because there’s no coaching involved. A plug & chug method as it were. Fast to fit requires conceptual knowledge and understanding of the kinematics/kinetics being chased. #CoachesCoach

@jb_morin @SportsmithHQ What are some of your more “localized” training modalities and progressions for limbo pelvic control? I’m aware you have posted some in the past. Have they changed? Have you found some to facilitate transfer better than others? Etc.

Lumbo-pelvic control is often misunderstood. It's about managing trunk and pelvis rotation in all movement planes, preventing large, unpredictable movements @‌chrisbramah sportsmith.co/articles/optim… via @SportsmithHQ

Hamstring inj. are common in team sport athletes freq. exposed to ⬆️ velocity running. @jb_morin , Jurdan Mendiguchia, & @TomDosSantos91 put together a paper on factors relating to ⬆️ risk of hamstring strains. HSI can be assessed as applied strain or strain capacity.

Question for all the performance and RTP coaches out there: When looking at influencing athlete availability and taking into account the stresses placed on soft tissue and the pelvis, which strategy between these two athletes would you deem as more robust?
