Hypothetical: You’re the owner of an MLB team. I offer to take $0 salary and sign a minor league contract and go to Low A. If the “he sucks now” crowd is right and I get lit up, you cut me, lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If the “clubhouse cancer” crowd is right, you see it immediately at Low A and cut me. You lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If there’s massive negative PR, which we already know there won’t be, you just cut me and move on. The story is dead in a couple days, you lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. But, assuming none of those things happen, which they obviously wouldn’t, if you like what you see, you can promote me to AA and re evaluate me there. Then AAA. Then the big leagues. If I earn it, which you’d be 100% in control of deciding. If you don’t think I’m good enough, you lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. You could take away my “antics”. You could take away my social media. You could ask anything of me. If I don’t comply, you cut me, lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. What logical reason is there to not do this? At worst, you cut me and there’s no risk to the big league club. At best, you get a Cy Young winner for $0 who you know can still pitch and could help the big league team if and when you see fit.

It's weird that adult teachers and staff are hating on me on social media. Teachers always say that everyone has the right to their own beliefs. I believe that too. I also think that facts are facts. Boys can't simply choose to become girls and expect to take away our rights.

@brianmgardinerg @glenn_kinley No, for a couple reasons, 1. physically it’s easier to run forward, 2. he doesn’t mean 70% in front of the outfielders INTO the OF where it’s catchable. That also includes anything that’s an IF hit and any bloop type hit.

This is interesting on a lot of levels. It seems a lot of outfielders across all levels play too deep for fear of being burned. If this stat is correct that 70% of hits are in front of outfielders...doesn't that seem like the adjustment should be to move them in a bit to take some away? Then train them hard to go backwards? The @andruwjones25 school of outfield...

Talked to #Illini head baseball coach Dan Hartleb about avoiding information overload with his guys.
Interesting 2.5 minutes here, IMO.
"You want to give your players information, yet, they have to react."
"In baseball 70% of the hits are in front of the outfield. So if you train to hit them over the outfielders, you're training for 30%."
Says he doesn't want players overly focused on metrics and analytics -- need to go compete at some point.

I was criticized the other day for questioning why @MLB pitchers are throwing MAX effort in bullpen sessions this early in Spring Training.
Maybe I know a little more about this stuff than you social media experts huh?
