@Fit_For_Golf So funny. And I’m a former powerlifter ! (And I’d include landmines with barbells) And I’d say the opposite. 😂 that’s what makes the industry great - you’re training the best in the world at what they do as am I. Love to see it!

Barbells are still the best “golf fitness” and all round strength training tool. The learning curve to become competent is worth it.

Golfing friends: For tee time management Is it best to be all computerized? Starter only, no tee times? What say you?

@brianbeers One or two swing lessons This narrows down your misses Then you’re getting better bounces “Hitting it farther” is easier bc you’re in fairways But also better swing (path) overall = Lower scores

Strong disagree. This is a “two weeks of vacation” mindset. Working in a stunning location is inspiring and I find it easy to lock in on rest days. If you’re going to spend a lot of time traveling, it’s a skill you have to develop. This pic is from two weeks ago in Mexico. World class climbing wall in the background. I was more productive than at home.

champ 💫@champtgram

anyone who has travelled a lot knows that even though pics like this look cool, trying to half-work on your laptop in places like this absolutely fucking sucks and you’d be better off just enjoying yourself

I concur. All those saying, “where’s the emotion!?” Are missing the journey. The emotion spent in the 93 previous attempts at victory. Knowing and believing you’re on the right path is HARD. His press conference was telling.

Could have easily said “this isn’t working and things need to change” Instead… stayed patient, stayed committed, now got the rewards 👊🏼 Pretty much what you have to do in life too 🙂

Some of these replies need to relax. Texas Tech has one of the best strength staffs in the country. I’m sure if someone needs lighter weights they have them. The point is the mindset: no shortcuts. Coach McGuire and his staff know exactly what they’re doing.

Texas Tech took every weight under 40 lbs out of their weight room. Love this!! No shortcuts. @NextUpBreneman x @USAT

@hutch_golf These sound right. 20 balls is dialing in. On the 3rd and 4th day of the tournament it’s all about managing stressors at this point. More swings at high speeds isn’t going to help.

I've been playing with the driving range data from this week at THE PLAYERS. Here's some fun stuff I've found... First, because I think they're pretty, some overhead and side views of the range sessions of the Top 20.

@rossmacleodputt It doesn’t as long as you are feeling ok and not going too hard all the time, and your whoop doesn’t know what zone you are in anyway.

I haven't done the following exercises in 15 years: 1. Bench 2. Squat 3. Clean 4. Dead lift I actually think it is ridiculous for non-competitive athletes to EVER do these exercises. Risk of injury simply too high. Much better: 1. Push ups 2. Body squats (kettlebell) 3. Turkish get up (kettlebell) 4. Single leg RDL (kettlebell) Oh and pilates > weight room.

@acaseofthegolf1 Honest question: do you know the actual injury rate on the PGA tour? As in…how many actually are walking around with an injury at any given moment (not how many miss time)?

Nerdy observation from Scheffler's Thursday... 0 = Missed fairway left 1 = Left side of fairway 6 = Right side of fairway* 7 = Missed fairway right *𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢 𝘺𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩. 𝘈𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘢 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘺. Why is this interesting? Over the last three seasons, Scheffler ACTUALLY LED the @PGATour in right rough avoidance, missing the fairway right just 10.0% of the time (309 of 3012 tee shots).

@DuggerWoods @Top100Rick Okay bro He deadlifts 3 plates Easily pressing 80’s on bench Bulgarians full range 50’s This is a golfer. Not Bryson, I’ll give you that. But a golfer built, a frame designed to apply and absorb force Sure he’s not bigger than you. But he’s easily bigger than his peers.

Colin Morikawa goes down with a back injury. Rory McIlroy last week. What they both have in common: Both added speed over the off season. Coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe the chase for speed has limits. Small Rory is now as fast as beefcake Bryson was.
