PARENTS: You can love your kids but still allow them to struggle a little bit in sports. That's part of the growing process. "Protecting" them now can limit their development as people. Educate, encourage, and equip. Be careful enabling them so much they're not prepared for life.

Bless the coaches who hold all kids accountable for grades, conduct & behavior. Never doubt that choosing discipline over a win is the right thing. It matters. That example says that regardless of how good a player is, he/she will be held to a very high standard. That’s powerful!

Leadership is the business of “people”. We can’t lead people unless we know them, and we surely can’t get to know them if we are never around them. A position doesn’t make us a leader, merely a figure head. Leading is a connection, leading is a relationship.

Leadership/culture isn’t found in a book. Reading about them won’t make you a leader. Doing hard things, putting others first & yourself last, giving others credit, listening, offering support, being adaptable, making others feel valued. That’s relationships. That’s leadership!
