@uiltexas 40.54 and you get left at home. I know it'll be teams at state well over 41. Qualifying rules need to change.

The whole idea that there is a consensus board being used to judge picks is stupid. Who is making up the consensus? That’s the problem with draft evaluations. Don’t be part of the herd.

They were both reading on their own before 5 years old. That’s it. That’s all we did. No science, no classes. Just read to them. When they ask. Answer.

And furthermore, there's no "Science of Reading". There's a way to teach it correctly & a bunch of bullcrap we've been rolling out for 20 yrs. My kids were reading Harry Potter in 1st gr because their mom (an ELA teacher" taught them how to read the way we all learned in the 70's & 80's

Took 11 varsity runners to district. 4 of them seniors. 3 of them sprinters. They only scored 72 points but finished third as a team. These guys went 1/3/4 in the 800.

There is a love and respect here that is hard to surpass….cross country would be a close second. Didn’t start coaching the latter until five seasons ago.

For the last two years I've been writing down everything I wish someone had told me about coaching distance — not workouts, but the thinking underneath them. 23 questions I had to answer for myself before any of my training made sense. The manuscript is done. 25 chapters. It's called "How to Think About Distance Training". Now I need the part that's harder than writing it — finding out if it works for coaches who aren't me. I'm looking for beta readers. 10-15 coaches willing to read it over the next few weeks and give me honest feedback. The kind of coaches I'm looking for: 1. You've been in this long enough to feel the gap between what you're doing and what you know is possible. 2. @wesvirdelltx The camp safety bill is garbage & is about to put a bunch of camps under because there is no way they can meet all the requirements. Camp I’m familiar with sits on one of the highest points in the county, but won’t be able to function because no end to end cable available. Idiocy

#txlege I say this out of frustration, but I believe it needs to be pointed out publicly. If a member of the Texas Legislature gets invited to a professional or college football game, most members will drop everything to find a way to make it. Recently, I invited all 181 members of the Texas Legislature to see Camp Mystic and the Kerrville area to understand why we lost 119 people in a natural disaster. We offered two separate dates to help those who may be busy on one of the days. It is important that legislators see what really happened because the Texas House and Senate recently passed legislation that was a massive overreach of government as a reaction to it. So how many out of 181 came to understand what happened and how to approach future legislation? Three. Three legislators cared enough to show up and understand. While there are some who wanted to make it and couldn't, looking at the overall picture, only 3 out of 181 made it. Texas deserves better than politicians putting sports as a higher priority than understanding the gravity of reality. Don't worry though, we will have more football games coming up next season that will be more important to them than losing 119 people.

I wonder what Jesus would say to a minister that makes a six figure salary? I wonder if it would be the same thing for His followers who were in the same income bracket?
