Don't think I've ever seen this before in baseball.
Biscuits outfielder Austin Overn rips a ball down the right field line, right fielder slides over the ball, ball gets lodged into the ground so deep it turns into an inside-the-park home run.
Then it takes MULTIPLE players to try and dig it out, which lasted minutes.

@0riettaRose 504 has been destroyed by parents trying to rig the system for their kids. I teach an honors course and I have 25+ with 504 accommodations. Less than 10 years ago, I had maybe 4 or 5. Why the change? Practically everything comes under the 504 umbrella. It’s just wrong.

He says every teacher is special ed now, what with all the IEPs and 504s.

High IQ play.
Winning run was on 3rd base in extra innings. Fly ball certainly deep enough to win the game. Drew Gilbert catches the ball as low as he possibly can in hopes of getting the runner to leave the base early.
Didn’t work. But worth a shot.

@kdwainscott @MrMaxPrice It’s unnecessary and becomes a pain in the ass. I was coaching 17 years before they adopted it so I’d occasionally forget it when jogging out. it’s not really protecting you and most of us are smart enough to not put ourselves in a position to need it.

Our 18 year old team manager - an absolute stud senior basketball player who wanted to help us out and be part of our program this year - was restricted to the dugout on Friday by the HP ump for not wearing a helmet when grabbing a bat off the field between hitters. So dumb 🤣

Balls coming off the bat 100 + mph in play and guys over 50 standing 75 feet away in the middle of the field unprotected are yelling at athletes to put on a helmet to get a foul ball 300 feet away.

@MrMaxPrice Protector needs a helmet on when he’s 200 feet away from the plate with a glove is my favorite, but 36 year old washed up coach (myself) coaching third at 75 feet from the plate doesn’t need a coaching helmet on in Ohio 😂

Nevada public schools are fighting not to play Bishop Gorman. New York public schools are fighting not to play private schools. Good old California is sticking with allowing private and public schools play together in playoffs. We're different. Sorry, I like it.
