This umpire was behind the plate calling a game. He overheard the moms in the stands saying this young man up to bat was having a bad day, had injured his knee and was hurting pretty bad and needed a hug. So, he asked him if he needed a hug, he said yes, so he called time out and the Blue obliged and gave him a hug. A simple act of kindness. If we could do more of these things what a better place this world would be. 💯 Our youth need more leadership like this. Have you ever seen an umpire call time out and go give the batter a hug? Don’t you think coaches, parents and other umpires alike could learn a thing or two by watching this guy?

@shegone03 @MLB Good news is to the 20 years of coaching and instructing I’ve had nobody worth their salt teaches the HLP BS and usually makes fun of it

I came up to the @MLB in 1992 and stayed there through 2001. 9 years and 15 days of #mlb service during the STEROID era. The term “If you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying” was commonly used. Players were doing anything and everything to gain an edge on the competition who was doing it too! Players were taking greenies, using steroids, B12 shots, corked bats, pine tar rags in pitcher’s pockets and who knows what else. I never used STEROIDS but I did take greenies like many of the other players. Remember greenies were banned in 2008 well after my career was over. Now enter the HLP clan who suggest that I cheated my way to a 9 year MLB career because I’ve exposed their grift. From @Teacherman1986 to @uTeeBaseball to @thewheelhousenj they have all tweeted that I was a cheater. @Teacherman1986 claims I used PEDS! @uTeeBaseball called me a Felon! @thewheelhousenj tweets daily that I cheated! Dear @Topps , My wife and our 2-year-old daughter were so excited to open 4 Topps Disney Neon blaster boxes together. She kept saying 'Mickey!' with pure joy. But 3 of the 4 boxes had the exact same cards… meaning we got triples of almost everything. The anticipation turned into such a letdown for my little girl. @CoachLongBeard @StitesOnRangers Better than Alonso and Naylor so far for sure, but definitely not Kurtz. Would you not say Alonso and Naylor are struggling though? I would love Burger to get back to his 22-24 season numbers, but if we see another season like 25, they’re going to need to do something.

Luckily I am not talking about 2B right now, which is an entirely different problem lol.

@Wadeicus And it is the FIRST problem that should be solved before any other craziness is proposed Because Burger at 1B, Walcott at 2B and Jung at 3B looks a lot better than Jung 1B and Walcott 3B with whoever else at 2B

@RightOnRangers Why are all the “Rangers” Fans so up in arms right now about everything. We aren’t hitting well yet but it’s not even May and you are still right in it with the division. Baseball is a long season of end and flows. Let’s give the team time to figure things out.

Margins are razor thin with this offense. I hesitate to bust Jung’s chops seeing as he’s the only player actually hitting atm. That said, says a lot about the state of the lineup that we’re dissecting secondary leads on bunt plays as a major turning point.

I see so much discourse about trading Corey to a ‘return for the future’ The future is on the team. MLB pitchers most of the time don’t hit their true strides until 28-30 Gore Leiter Rocker Bradford Fit that timeline Carter is 23 Wyatt is 24 We didn’t trade for Nimmo and Burger to not win - We didn’t trade for Gore to not win The offense is being held back by an obsessant love for the Ezekiel Duran’s and Joc Pederson’s alike. The offense needs some attention. CY can clearly build a pen and we have some good arms there The pitching is in good hands minus the future need to add another arm or two (which team doesn’t) The hitting needs POWER. Needs bat-to-ball. Needs to quit having so much pressure on a 24 year old kid.
