Half time adjustments should always be simple and actionable. Buzz words/phrases are energy vampires. 'Not enough intensity' 'We are playing soft' 'They just want it more' 🛑 - do we need to adjust the pace? - are we rotating on time? - are we guarding the ball screen effectively? - are second chance/extra possessions favourable? - can we improve shot quality? - is there an individual matchup beating us? One of the biggest mistakes we can make is giving players too much information. Affirm 2 or 3 things they are doing well, focus on 2 or 3 points to adjust, and leave them with the CONFIDENCE and ENERGY to play well.

@8Ballahoopinsi1 Amen. At practice with my team last year, we had a constant rule that during any live scrimmage if the ball hit the floor a fourth time without changing possessions - Turnover. Practice makes progress and you have to practice the right things to improve at them!

Three dribbles max if you can’t score within three dribbles pass the ball and cut or go screen away or walk your man in and pop back out. Players don’t understand how to get open and not have to work so hard for offense.

@Cap_CityCLT Go on Coach 👏🏼👏🏼 It’s great if you have a switch up or change of pace zone to use situationally but if man isn’t your primary defense you’re doing your kids a disservice.

2-3 Zone for 32 minutes straight is crazy. Kids can’t get recruited doing that lol 95% of college basketball and high level HS play MAN to MAN! Not only are you taking away from your kids IQ and dawg mentality that should be having from locking someone up, but you’re taking away the fun of youth sports.
