Being talented doesn’t make you a great player. According to Curt Cignetti, the real separator is how a player responds to coaching. That reveals three types of players: 1️⃣ Inconsistent players They take coaching on their own terms: • Accept praise • Resist correction 2️⃣ Good players They take coaching when it’s given: • Listen to feedback • Apply it in practice 3️⃣ Great players They seek coaching relentlessly: • Self-scout constantly • Ask for more correction Talent sets the floor. Your relationship with coaching determines the ceiling.

A FAKE offer Means NO One from that Staff Truly Offered The Prospect. A Non Committable or Camp Offer is NOT a Fake Offer it has a Contingency to It as ALL Offers do in this Climate. A Committable Offer TODAY at 7 A.M. could be Non Committable Tomorrow at 7 P.M. that does not make it Fake. Actually in this climate You could Commit to a University in June & December the New Staff Decide they don’t Want you. We’ve also had a Kid Commit in June, Sign to New staff in December Early Enroll & Be told in January they don’t Want Him. Gotta 🛑 this notion of Offers being FAKE label created by people who may not have had or have offers. There are levels to Offers & just because it doesn’t manifest don’t mean the offer was Fake. RECRUITS If you can’t COMMIT to the classroom, don’t expect to COMMIT to a college. No coach is risking their career on half-effort. Your habits tell them everything they need to know.

You are constantly communicating with your body language. It screams your attitude & intent loudly. Not just during practice & games, but in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, at home, in public, with friends, at your workplace, in an interview. How others perceive you matters!

Nuanced point in today's Field Notes: "Leaders should use direct messages instead of redirection when a straightforward approach is not likely to push honesty underground or leave people feeling cornered. Using redirection just to make a tough point can be seen as passive-aggressive and would likely undermine candid exchange."

What does it say/mean when a white coach references Poly and Black coaches as “ East Palo Alto gang members?”

I know the answer to the this but what does it mean/say when a white coach references a black woman as “high yellow” and proceeds to go on a rant about politics and what Dems haven’t done for black people. 🤔
