@TxBallCoach40 The timing system or the wind advantage? I know in West Texas the wind can kick up pretty high just like it can everywhere. But if you a wind gage and let legal wind times that could fix the problems.

@CoachThompson08 One of the area meets in our region produced all the lane 4s and 5s in certain races. I called an AD and asked if they had a crazy wind. They waffled about and finally said "yeah the timer on some of those may have been off a little". This is what we want to rely on?

Now that regional track meets are over, here comes my yearly rant. We have to find a way to get the fastest times or farthest marks to the state track meet. My thought is make the state meet prelims and finals. Top 2 from regional meet and next 10 best marks go. Thoughts?

@TxBallCoach40 Trust me I know!! But I think track is the one true sport that can take human opinion out of the equation. Depending on the weather, a time is a time. Your already going to regional sites for track, so lets use those places to qualify for the state meet.

@CoachThompson08 Best teams don't go to state in football. Sometimes they play in the third round. We don't need to change what works

@Rave_Speed What are they complaining about? What do they not like about it? What is the bad?

@CoachThompson08 That’s the process being used in Florida this season and coaches are complaining.

@Tier1athlete @coach_edmonson You have to have wind legal day to qualify. You can do one better and say you could qualify for the state meet at area or regional meet. So you have two chances. If you qualify at area you can only better your mark.
