The Browns are hiring Mike Rutenberg as their defensive coordinator, sources tell The Insiders. A high-energy assistant, Rutenberg has trained under Robert Saleh and Jeff Ulbrich and most recently was the Falcons’ defensive pass game coordinator.

Source: The #Browns are hiring #Packers Assistant Special Teams Coordinator Byron Storer as their new Special Teams Coordinator. A big hire for HC Todd Monken, Storer has been a key assistant for Rich Bisaccia with the Raiders and Packers and now gets to run his own unit in Cleveland.

Todd Monken is keeping running backs coach Duce Staley on his staff. Staley has been in that role for the Browns since 2024.

The Browns are hiring Bobby Johnson as the assistant offensive line coach, per @mzenitz. The Akron, Ohio native was the offensive line coach for the Commanders the last two seasons. Johnson has also previously been the offensive line coach for the Giants and Bills.

He was good but not the greatest coach ever. He could have just finished out his contract and then went somewhere else but he is throwing a tantrum since he didn’t get the job he was obviously beat out for. Go take the year and watch the Browns defense be even better.
