@epawawx Thank you! I’m a little tired of these hyper forecasters drooling over how bad a storm they’re predicting could be to the general public! They almost seem to find joy in flooding, beach erosion or anything that upsets the turnip truck for everyday people! Back it down a notch!

This has been a general trend over the past few model cycles on the NAM, Euro, Euro AI, and to some extent the GFS. Elongated low pressure off the coast, and in some cases, a double-barreled low structure. Less consolidation means lowered impacts. Still a problem closer to the shore points, but less consolidation would mean a not-as-tight pressure gradient between the storm and high pressure to the north. Wind gusts at the shore would be 40-50, not 60+ and heaviest rain would also be found there. NW of I-95 people would be like... "it rained over two days, but it was showers and a little breezy. No big deal." We'll see if we continue to trend in this direction on the [new] 12z runs, but this is why you don't jump to definitive conclusions too early.

Last Friday, I toured flood-damaged areas in New Providence with Mayor Al Morgan, in Watchung with Mayor Ron Jubin and Councilman Paolo Marano, and in Green Brook with Mayor Jim Van Arsdale to see firsthand the devastation caused by last week's storms. Our office remains in close contact with all affected municipalities, and our legislative team is actively working to support long-term mitigation efforts to better prepare for future storms.
