Observation #7000 from watching summer tournaments: Coaches - if the facility that you are using has rules about using their facility, you need to obey those rules. Don’t disregard those rules with your team, and then get upset at your players when they don’t obey your rules!

Mediocrity is excellence to the mediocre.
Don’t be the teammate who’s satisfied with being good, or who lives on past successes!
No comparisons.
No complacencies.
Focus on being YOUR best every day; on your craft AND as a teammate!
That is what the truly elite do!

Help us in our mission of raising $100k to grow and supply our athletes with gear and more, “We updated the lockers to nicer lockers now. Even the little things like our gear and towels for traveling and bags and things like that have been updated.” #athleticsdayofgiving

You’re having a bad day, you’re not happy with the umpires calls, your body doesn’t feel 💯, you made an error, you walked the batter, you gave up a long ball, you’re not happy with your coaches decisions, you got jammed and your hands hurt, blah blah blah.
One of the best parts of this game is it doesn’t care about all that. It’s not going to wait for you to stop feeling sorry for yourself. It’s not going to wait for you to calm down and be tougher. Your opponents couldn’t care less how you feel. They are waiting for you to slip so they can pounce.
Many players beat themselves for reasons like this. Often it’s not the fact that their opponents are better than them but that they aren’t there yet mentally.

Teams that don’t strike out at a high clip win more games. Simple as that. This is amplified at the college level and 10 fold at HS level and below. Once you get two strikes, it becomes 100% a team at-bat. Grind it out. Compete your tail off. Choke-up, shorten up, widen up, get closer to plate and implement your two strike mental approach. Some call this their “B Swing.” Make the pitcher work! Always liked “look fastball away and adjust.” But there are other 2 strike approaches that are just as effective. Need to experiment and find out what works best for your style of hitting. Often a quality two strike approach leads to hard hit balls. But even when they don’t, the opposition still has to field it, throw it, and catch it. That’s called pressure. Much more difficult to defend than a right turn back to the dugout.
