Most Linebackers can make tackles. Elite Linebackers make tackles THROUGH THEIR ASSIGNMENT.

Underrated coaching truth: The best coaches aren’t obsessed with talent. They’re obsessed with effort. With attitude. With toughness. Because when it gets hard, that’s what still shows up.

I believe work life balance is a myth. The key is to find rhythm and be engaged when you are at work and engaged when you are home. Invest in relationships where you are and you’ll feel more energized at work and home. You won’t have balance but you’ll be fulfilled

Weightroom testing days are the ultimate athletic lie detector. Did you do all your reps? "Yeah, Coach." It's separates the "Dids" from the "Didn'ts" like nothing else in our society.

I can get you to work hard. But I cannot give you the will to want to come out first. That's competing. Competing is doing the very best with what you have, especially when circumstances, opposition, and adversity are stacked against you, and STILL pushing through anyway.

People don’t understand this… I played Linebacker. And it’s been 20 years since I made a tackle. I can still shoot a basketball… Or toss a football. But I’ll never meet a RB in the B Gap ever again. If you’re still playing, enjoy every minute. Once it’s over. It’s over.

Old school coach memory. Next time you share your dislike for Hudl. Consider this. It’s Friday night, your game film is on VHS. You gotta stack several VCRs together so you can make copies for your team. 6 hours later, 24 copies made. Then you get up the next day to drive a copy across town to your next week opponent. You exchange film. Head home to make more VCR copies to only find out the scout copy was crap. Some jr high kid shot the film. You move forward with making more copies. Then spend your day driving them around town to your starters.

Had a great conversation with a parent today who was hesitant about his son running track & field because football is his primary sport. I explained why TF actually enhances a football career 👇 ✅ Explosive power ✅ Speed & acceleration ✅ Better mechanics & conditioning ✅ Versatility, coordination & injury resilience This isn’t the first time this question has come up. Track & Field can optimize success on the football field 🏈 • Sprinting (100m/200m) = builds straight-line speed for skill positions (WR, DB, RB) • Hurdles & agility events = improve quickness, hip mobility, and change-of-direction ability • Jumps & throws = develop power and explosiveness for linemen and physical matchups This conversation stems from my recent posts about the benefits of athletes playing multiple sports! Track wont be a distraction from football. 💥If anything TF will be a catalyst for speed, power, strength and injury risk reduction!

How do we get so many 7-8th graders to lifts? Because the sport coaches tell them to and show up! Remember coaches… It’s MY job to program and train your kids. It’s YOUR job to push them to workouts and show up as well. It’s a dual partnership!
