Do we have a buy-back clause in Kelleher’s deal with Brentford? If so, we should 100% trigger it this summer and make him our number 1 when Alisson leaves.

Nigel Farage claims the details of a £5m donation “shouldn’t even be public” and states it was an unconditional “reward for campaigning for Brexit”. Previously Reform UK have said the donation was to cover Mr Farage’s security costs for life

This is fake news by the establishment media who will do anything to hurt Reform as we challenge their cosy consensus. I had passed proof-of-funds and the relevant checks before receiving the gift. Sky News did not publish that part of our statement despite knowing the truth.

@bobstev53681908 @wrong_kennedy Bob, the turnstiles opened at 1pm. 10100 tickets for the Leppings Lane end - do the Maths. Even with an even flow that’s 12 people per minute through each turnstile. Even then if they’d closed the gate across the tunnel it would all have been avoided.

@wrong_kennedy My Q's. Was there a rush to get in? Facts: 7 turnstiles. 24,000 tickets allocated, apparently. Many fabs arrived late.

1. At Hillsborough, fans were so tightly packed in the Leppings Lane concourse that nobody could charge anywhere. The exit gates were opened at police direction to relieve overcrowding. 2. There’s no evidence of any volume of ticketless fans at Hillsborough as the Health & Safety Executive, consulting engineers and police counts found that there were fewer fans on the terraces than ticket sold - see the analysis heard in court, which established that ticketless fans were not a factor in the disaster, in the post following this 3. The 2016 Hillsborough Inquest jury found *unanimously* that fans did not cause the disaster, nor even contribute to causing it 4. This footage is wheeled out regularly and always attracts comments like yours, but the big picture is that around 100,000 Merseysiders went to Wembley that day, stood side by side peacefully on the terraces, and there were only a handful of arrests inside and outside the stadium, and far fewer than other finals
Mark Hooper@mjhoops45_mark

@FootballInT80s So- Liverpool fans didn’t charge the turnstiles to gain illegal entry at Hillsboro but risk a big fall at Wembley?

RAYNER & THE TWO-TIERED TAXMAN? Rayner has been cleared. Both she & Labour will hope that's the end of it. But it won't be Whatever the truth, there will be the stench of corruption. Of "one rule for us, one rule for them". Of Animal Farm socialists in it for themselves Labour sees Rayner as an asset. But most voters see the opposite. They see an Establishment taking care of itself - and the huge desire to "drain the swamp" will only rise gbnews.com/politics/angel…

@DPJHodges Strange, you've posted more in the last 24 hours about the Celtic game last night than you have about Farage's murky dealings. You have reposted one tweet about the investigation into Farage and that's it.

There was breathless newspaper coverage because the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom was forced to resign after being found to have breached the Ministerial Code.
richard bacon@richardpbacon

There was so much breathless newspaper coverage of this story. It never seemed to be about very much. I don’t like being this reductive but it really has always seemed like the right wing press has a massive problem with labour women. Farage takes 5 million 🤷

@BethRigby How about reporting on the good news, such as 0.6% growth in the 1st quarter, waiting lists coming down etc. Doesn't take much to find out such things what with you being a journalist and all.

Where are we at today? Am told by one senior figure that the PM’s meeting ministers in his study last night didn’t necessarily help matters. “Didn’t make it better” says one source. They tell me PM’s “argument was that a leadership race would be chaos but these are serious people wanting to hear how he'll put it right”. On Streeting, allies tell me the plan if for him to resign today. Different sides saying different things. Streeting allies tell me he has, PM supporters don’t think he has. I am told that his people were calling around MPs on the left who had called on the PM to go, seeing if they would lend votes to Streeting, which is why some saying they don’t think he he has the numbers. Either way, it’s very hard to see how Streeting now doesn’t resign at this point. Burnham: His allies say watch for him doing something today. There is an effort to get Burnham into this race and that means giving him time to get back to SW1 and slowing down the process by which nominations open and close. Burnham being locked out would be problematic given his support in membership and PLP. This is now one senior figure put it: “There is a desire to make sure whatever happens resolves leadership stuff once and for all and that someone has legitimacy” Rayner meanwhile has set herself up for a run, announcing this morning that she has been cleared of wrongdoing by HMRC, paid the stamp duty owed at the higher rate. I understand that Rayner is prepared to put herself forward if required

@TVKev Well she hasn't taken a £5m back hander which obviously came with no strings attached. Is your problem with her that she's a labour politician, a woman or she grew up in a working class environment?

@geekgoddess2024 @PolitlcsUK I’ve worked with politicians from various parties over the years. I have found the majority have entered with the desire to improve society even when I might not have agreed with how they wanted to do that. I don’t believe that is the case with Farage.
