Our state is still locked in years of brutal drought — Lake Abilene sits at just 3.5% capacity — yet this massive AI campus, backed by OpenAI’s Sam Altman, SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son, Oracle’s Larry Ellison, and UAE-backed MGX, got an 85% property tax break plus full state sales tax exemptions on all their equipment and power. They’re pulling an initial 8 million gallons from city supplies just to fill the system, then about 10 million more every year after. Even with their “closed-loop” tech, it feels like we’re handing Big Tech our most precious resource while so many Texans are already rationing every drop. Are we really putting GPUs ahead of the people and places that built Texas? We deserve better.

Senator, I am a citizen and I only mean good with my suggestion for our nation.
I suggest we do something urgent and surgically fix and remove the pause on F1 visa. Student visa is one of the most important to our national security and our competitive edge.
It is simple: It is not H1B, it is not a lottery, it is not handout, it is not a charity
What it is, is we attract talents and higher ed from the globe competitively by university programs on where we feel the need and if they end up successful we absorb them into our nation.
Best of the best comes bc we are the best nation on earth so it based on mutual benefits!
While we hold it on pause we are losing talent and if your counter argument is then we are getting opportunities from our citizens that is a wrong argument and this is why:
A nation of 300 millions wanna compete with nation of 1.3 billions has one downfall:
Based on normal distribution we cannot have 90% of population be PhDs. We cannot have 50% of population be doctors or physicians or rocket scientists! It is just not possible naturally!
Now who is the competition: lets take China as an example:
China due to its population has PhDs almost around our population (if 20% of 1.3 billion holds PhDs then they have 260 millions PhDs)
What is the solution?
We attract talents
As simple as that.
This is small fraction of our immigration system but maybe has highest impact

I paid close to 40% tax in the UK!

Beautiful green spaces / every road was one!

Good roads / clean roads
I could see the sky studded with stars from my home (now I see the neighbours building)
My neighbor would have to take permission from all neighbours to elevate/alter his house (lest he obstruct sunlight / ventilation for us) and often fail!
My rubbish bins and even garden waste collected on time
I drank tap water and it tasted divine!
Good quality groceries
I swam in the local council pools (govt pools) which were temperature controlled!
More importantly I had time to enjoy this all!
P.S I love India to bits! And there’s a good reason why I came back…despite this!
