We are deeply saddened by the passing of Wally Funk. Wally was a pioneer in every sense of the word. In her 20s, she was the first female civilian flight instructor at a U.S. military base. She became the youngest of the Mercury 13, outperforming nearly every test put in front of her, and ultimately, the only one of the thirteen to have ever reached space. On NS-16, sixty years later, Wally made history as the oldest astronaut at the time and remains the oldest woman to ever fly to space. It was a moment six decades in the making. We were humbled to be part of her journey. Her story will continue to inspire generations of future explorers. Fly Wally, Fly. 🚀

This old gem from my high school yearbook surfaced recently, and I figured the opportunity for an inspirational message was well worth the personal embarrassment! After my fifth spacewalk last week, I can attest that with passion, drive, and perseverance, dreams and high school aspirations are well within your grasp. What are your future plans? The young designer of Rise meets a @nasaartemis II astronaut! Eight-year-old Lucas Ye had the brightest smile as Artemis II pilot @AstroVicGlover showed him Rise and congratulated him at the Ames summer picnic. A true experience of Moon joy.

@DJSnM If this final telemetry is accurate, the booster hit the water at 1,454km/h, or 903mph, or Mach 1.19

The view from inside Integrity as recovery forces pop open the hatch…watching the helicopter pass over their shoulders and hearing all the joy, it was as good as it gets.

I spoke with someone today who will be celebrating their 10th year at a WordPress business. Being employed at the same business for 10 years is very rare. I'm glad that it's still possible, despite getting more difficult every day.

People don't realize how absurd this view actually is. A camera. On a robot. On Mars. Built by humans on a planet 140 million miles away, launched on a rocket, landed using a sky crane, and now driving across an alien desert taking pictures so detailed you can count the rocks. 100 years ago, your great-grandparents thought airplanes were a miracle. You are scrolling past Mars on your phone.

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

This is Sadie. She was finally reunited with her human, astronaut Christina Koch, after her mom’s voyage around the moon took her the furthest any human has ever been from their dog. She can't wait to hear all about the universe. 14/10
