@1btc1bitcoin @evoskuil Currently, you don't need 32GB of RAM for almost anything, unless your job requires it (Cough cough, you dont have a job). List the disadvantages, that'll be funny

@evoskuil Blocked because this clown got cooked Claims no effect on nodes - goes on to explain you need 32gb of ram to run libtard node. And cant address the other host of tradeoffs with libtard node @Coinjoin_Killua got cooked 💀

@1btc1bitcoin @evoskuil I was talking about software upgrades, but hardware upgrades are also a great example; RAM and memory become cheaper over time. You don't need utxoset in RAM; you're just running a useless node and not mining.

@1btc1bitcoin @evoskuil And you expect an outdated node to perform well? The fact that utxoset is growing is precisely the reason why the code needs to be maintained, updated, and improved is the opposite of what bots want.

We appreciate all the support and guidance throughout the years, Steven! You’re always welcome at @casavinteum. It’s really reassuring to see companies like @secondhq @Boltzhq and @lightning hiring developers we trained, and organizations like @opensats, @bitcoindevkit, and @BtcpayServer supporting them with grants. This is exactly the flywheel we’re trying to build.

Vinteum BDL Mentor Spotlight: Steven Roose (@stevenroose3) 🪿 Steven ran an Ark whiteboarding session at BDL week, walking students through the core concepts behind Ark: covering hArk, clArk, Erk, and how different covenant designs shape each approach. Steven hired BDL grad Luca to join @secondhq as a QA engineer, and shares why @vinteum_org is effective at preparing students for the workforce.

@Coinjoin_Killua @JakeBlockchain Thats funny, after getting the details wrong in this thread I had decided not to believe twitter or the AI about the trust or interactivity assumptions of ARK, but maybe this AI is a better source. Thanks for the link.

@Coinjoin_Killua @JakeBlockchain Exactly and let me iterate, I have no clue about the differences in ARK implementations. A reliance on a 2of2 with presigned unilateral exits sounds trustless to me. I'll have to sus out what all the controversy is really about more closely.

@ClioBitcoinBank @JakeBlockchain No, unilateral exit is achieved through onboarding or settlement And it's done through an interaction between you and ASP, in an atomic way to avoid the need for trust. 2of2 refers to payments that are made off-chain (arkoor transactions), follows a similar assumption statechain

@ClioBitcoinBank @JakeBlockchain Yes, ASP can deny service, and in that case you need to leave ARK, Or trust that most of the funds of others users are safe and he wouldn't have any incentive to steal from you.

@Coinjoin_Killua @JakeBlockchain Sounds like maybe it's wrong of me to say 'you must trust the ASP' but instead maybe its more accurate to say that the ASP could "grief" you or deny you service? My goal is to let users serve as their own LSPs, maybe ARK has some way of doing the same to reduce reliance on ASPs?

@Coinjoin_Killua @JakeBlockchain I'm sure you are right, as I said I did not dig into ARK, maybe the claims of dependence on trusting an ASP are overblown. I'm the wrong person to ask how ARK works but maybe I fell for the FUD or confuse ark/spark/2ark implementations?
