British mother, 56, dies with assisted suicide at Swiss clinic after being heartbroken by son’s tragic death. Wendy Duffy, a former care worker from the West Midlands, ended her life today at the Pegasos clinic in Basel, Switzerland. She paid £10,000 of her life savings for the assisted dying procedure after saying the grief over her only son Marcus had become completely unbearable. Marcus, 23, died four years ago after choking on a cherry tomato while asleep on the sofa. Wendy told the Daily Mail before travelling: “I want to die, and that’s what I’m going to do. My life; my choice.” Her family supported the decision even though they are devastated. She asked for her ashes to be scattered at the park bench where she used to sit every night talking to Marcus. @LifeNewsHQ They're not exploiting her at all. She's attempted suicide before, she is so grief stricken and can't continue without her only child. It's her choice and in her situation, I get it.

A suicide center in Switzerland is about to euthanize a health woman. The suicide clinic is exploiting a poor woman who is heartbroken over the death of her son. Wendy Duffy, 56, attempted to take her own life after her son died four years ago — but is soon bound for Switzerland, where assisted suicide is legal. Instead of providing the grieving mother support and counseling to help her deal with the loss, it will just help her kill herself. And Pegasos, a Swiss assisted-dying nonprofit organization, will make $13,500 to euthanize her. This is disgusting exploitation and highlights everything wrong with assisted suicide.

EVERYBODY watching I’m A Celebrity South Africa needs to watch this interview. The reason Adam Thomas is crying on social media right now, is that he knows his brand is about to be damaged, and there’s a chance it will affect the Thomas brothers podcast. #ImACeleb #ThisMorning

When people get in their 50s and 60s and up, do you start thinking about how many years you have left? I’m curious….

Devastated mum Wendy Duffy, 56, is travelling to a Swiss suicide clinic this week because she says she is too heartbroken to live without her only son. Marcus, 23, died four years ago after choking on a cherry tomato while asleep on the sofa at their home in the West Midlands. Wendy, a former care worker, tried to take her own life once before but survived. She told doctors the grief has become unbearable agony and no amount of therapy or medication can fix it. She has been approved for assisted dying at the Pegasos clinic in Basel and has already paid the £10,000 fee using her life savings. Her family say they fully support her heartbreaking decision even though they are devastated to lose her. Wendy is due to end her life on Friday 24 April. She has asked for her ashes to be scattered at the park bench where she used to sit and talk to Marcus every single night.

@TheNorfolkLion Utter madness. It just goes to show how compliant we were. It don't think there'd be so much cooperation if it ever happened again.

I still can’t believe we all just went along with this. Looking back now, it feels crazy how quickly everyone bought into the fear, lockdowns, masks everywhere, school closures, endless rules that kept changing. We were told two weeks to flatten the curve, and it turned into years of this crap. I’m so glad I woke up to it sooner than most and started thinking for myself instead of just following the crowd. 🐑

@Eman_8282 If bins are provided, I'm definitely throwing our rubbish away and leaving the table immaculate. If no bins, I'd still tidy up, stack things and make it as easy as possible for the staff. They're staff, not servants.

Got into it with a stranger at a mcdonald’s today and now I’m sitting here wondering if I’m the one in the wrong. We finished eating and left our table how it normally looks, tray, wrappers, nothing crazy. As we’re walking out, this older guy stops us and starts going off about how we’re “disrespectful” for not throwing everything away ourselves. That’s where I got confused. We paid for the food… and the service. In my mind, part of that is the staff coming around and clearing tables. It’s not a sit-down restaurant, but it’s also not like there’s a big sign saying you’re REQUIRED to clean up either Next thing you know it turns into a whole scene, voices raised, and somehow WE end up being the ones asked to leave like we did something completely out of line. Now I’m actually thinking about it, has this become some unspoken rule that everyone’s just expected to follow now🤔 Or was that guy just doing way too much🧐Be honest… are you throwing your stuff away at places like that or leaving it for staff🤷 I mean it is their job to clean up after the customers..

@Kristinartz I'm 50 and yes, I definitely remember this at primary school. My sons are 19 & 16, they did the same at their primary school. Coats & pe kits on their pegs.

Serious question for the 60s generation — did your school have a cloakroom where you hung your coat next to everyone else's, no locks, nothing stolen?

Was Prince Harry right to leave the Royal family? In an emotional speech, he claimed being a working royal 'killed his mum' and that HE never wanted the job. Do you think he made the right decision stepping away from royal life?
