@ICUltrasonica @RCollEM @ICS_updates FUSIC heart is a well established and effective programme. The RCEM subcommittee for ultrasound is just getting started, many more resources will be posted. Looking forward to getting the word out there for all specialties using POCUS on how we can progress.

EM led the way for UK POCUS training & we owe so much for this. But I can’t help but think it’s odd that @RCollEM didn’t recognise @ICS_updates #FUSIC for advanced #POCUS in this document. It has delivered Heart ultrasound training for 10 years and trained well over 3K clinicians

@julietandphil @RichBreeze1 Chewie has similar qualifications and used to be a school dog. The wellness team at lewisham was key to making this happen, I think he has been lucky to have the right people fighting his corner.

@theBSNR This is unworkable and appears to show a lack of understanding of the effect of pretest probability and basic interpretation of diagnostic tests. Strongly suggest you retract, review, talk to front line clinicians, discuss with someone who understands diagnostics and redraft.

@cephasplus @EveryOneNoOne1 Pocus can catch glimpses of Ao but not all. But this is point of care US and not diagnostic US you build your impression from pre-test probability /lab test (perhaps Ddimer) and POCUS. It may bring your suspicion down low enough to clinically exclude.

Quick survey: what do POCUS users think about scanning for low suspicion aortic dissection (suprasternal for flap, PLAX for root dilation, AR and effusion)? Can avoid CT or won’t tolerate the risk?
