@ChefMarc87 @BAMA2STL The browns were the original Milwaukee brewers who moved to St Louis in 1901 and became the browns, before moving to Baltimore in the 50s and became the modern version of the orioles
English

@ChefMarc87 @BAMA2STL The cardinals were not ever the browns. They were the brown stockings until 1899, when they became the Perfectos and wore cardinal socks. They were then named the Cardinals after the color of their socks when a journalist heard a woman say “what a lovely shade of cardinal”
English

How does this work for STL with two teams named after colors?
Kyle Corwin@kylecorwintakes
Unpopular opinion: Major sports teams in the same city should adopt the same color scheme because it's objectively way better than not
English

@ChefMarc87 @BAMA2STL They were named after the color. The birds came later

@FredMas26593657 @SD3pete @CodifyBaseball Platinum wasn’t a thing in Ozzie’s day. He was also a 15 time all star and is rated as the most valuable defensive player of all time. Alex probably isn’t a hall of famer in my eyes, but he was very good and deserves his flowers.
English

@SD3pete @CodifyBaseball 8 Gold Gloves and 2 Platinum as a left fielder after converting from being an infielder his entire life is beyond impressive. Ozzie had 13 Gold, but 0 Platinum. Alex getting votes is not far-fetched. Get him a statue at the K already.
English

@hackedbracket @joonlee The entire storyline around the Blues was about them coming back from last place. When you look up the 85 tournament the first thing you see is talking about what an upset it was. Nova is still the lowest seed to win the tournament.
English

@Cole_Mather @joonlee Leicester and Indiana are the most remarkable championships in sport. Red Sox get a bump for breaking curse of Bambino and being down 0-3 to the Yankees. People do not remember the blues or even Nova being huge long shots.
English

@hackedbracket @joonlee Everything I seen has them at 100 to 1 at their longest odds, which is still a crazy long shot.
Rest of list:
15-16 Leicester: 5000:1
2004 Red Sox: 120:1
2007 Giants: 30:1 (on the list because of 16-0 pats)
1985 Villanova: 35:1
English

@Cole_Mather @joonlee Indiana was 1000:1, that’s the difference
English

@hackedbracket @joonlee At one point the blues were 250 to 1 long shots, and they had never won the cup before. They fit here
English

@joonlee Dragon meme where one of them is the idiot dragon and it’s the 2019 St. Louis blues, like wtf are you talking about
English

@thequarterbIack You condone assaulting senior citizens
English

@RobertSportsBet @SamMonsonNFL You can’t on a 2 pt try. The reason this was allowed is because it’s technically not a fumble. It’s a loose ball from a dropped backwards pass, which is allowed to be advanced, because the offense clearly isn’t trying to fumble forwards when they pass backwards.
English

@SamMonsonNFL I think it’s dumber that one can’t advance the football on a fumble in certain situations, but a 2 point try is okay
English

So, my problem with this play is inconsistency in the rules.
An inadvertent whistle from an official stops a play dead. It can take points off the board: you get a pick six, but an official accidentally blows up before the defense scores... no points.
Here, a whistle blows, but you can just pick up a football and be awarded points?
I don't see how you can reconcile those.
English

@Clydejackson69 @KcDubya23 @VideoisBoy @HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate A backwards pass is explicitly not a fumble. It’s a backwards pass. They are different, and the rules around them are different.

English

@KcDubya23 @Cole_Mather @VideoisBoy @HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate Wasn't talking to you ugly, but what he said was absolutely correct, that is a fumble. I'm still not sure what you're challenging about that
English

#Rams HC Sean McVay says he isn’t making excuses, but he doesn’t understand how the Seahawks were awarded a two-point conversion on a backward pass when the play had already been ruled incomplete and both teams were preparing for the ensuing kickoff. He wants clarity on it.
“I’ve never seen anything like that. I grew up around the game.”
Ari Meirov@MySportsUpdate
The luckiest 2-point conversion ever. This is called a backward pass and recovered in the endzone for a successful two-point try. Game is now tied. What the heck. CRAZY.
English

@Mike__Oxmall__ @seattlecardguy @MitchSchwartz71 It’s still the same though. The play should have been live, and the Seahawks should have had a chance to recover. In the officials eyes, the whistle being blown had no effect on Charbonnet being there first.
English

@Cole_Mather @seattlecardguy @MitchSchwartz71 I get that, and that’s totally fine. It should exist for that reason, but this play totally exploited that and was not what the rule was designed for.. the example you have IS what it is designed for. Hence why it should be tweaked. Idk how but oh well 🤷♂️
English

@raiderhogsquid @BetTheOval @Mike5754 @stonkyboiiiii Yeah, what I meant was if it was a fumble it would be, but it wasn’t.
English

@Cole_Mather @BetTheOval @Mike5754 @stonkyboiiiii It is not in effect whatsoever. The 2pt try fumble rule is only reserved for… fumbles. Which this was not a fumble.
English

@raiderhogsquid @BetTheOval @Mike5754 @stonkyboiiiii It is in effect for this play, it’s just not relevant because it wasn’t a fumble, but a dropped backwards pass. They are different and have different rules.
English

@Clydejackson69 @KcDubya23 @VideoisBoy @HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate The rule about advancing fumbles exists to prevent holy roller types plays, where a ball is intentionally fumbled forward. It should be an incomplete pass, but that’s tough to officiate. A backwards pass is 100% not trying to be fumbled forward, because it’s thrown backwards.
English

@Cole_Mather @KcDubya23 @VideoisBoy @HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate What my argument is, is this SHOULD NOT be the rule. Not that a rule wasn't followed last night
English

@FrHilderbrand What do you mean? He’s in Georgia. Everyone knows that.
English

@HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate The play was blew dead. You can’t advance a ball after the whistle
English

@seanmcvayburner @BrianPiercy94 @JulioFl39650512 @HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate This is when the whistle was blown. I have a hard time believing anyone but Charbonnet is recovering this ball

English

@BrianPiercy94 @JulioFl39650512 @HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate Not when the post is blown dead and you can visibly see everyone give up on it, the ball landed next to 2 rams that didn’t go for it because they heard whistles
English

@skinnyd___ @KamiAaronX @Evo_Bets @HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate Yes they can. They reviewed if the pass was backwards, and determined that it was, and that there was a clear recovery by the offense in the immediate continuation of the play. Relevant rules are Rule 8 Section 7 Article 1, and Rule 15 Section 2 Article 3
English

@KamiAaronX @Evo_Bets @HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate What was there to review? At the time the whistle was blown the ball was rolling on the ground and nobody even possessed it yet, they can’t review a dead ball call lmfao
English

@Clydejackson69 @KcDubya23 @VideoisBoy @HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate A backwards pass that hits the ground is not a fumble. They are treated differently in the rules, with dropped backwards passes being allowed to be advanced by anybody. A fumble is specifically not a pass of any sort, and can only be advanced by the player who fumbled
English

@KcDubya23 @VideoisBoy @HiddenNBA @MySportsUpdate What was he wrong about and why does your face look so disgusting
English
