When you are looking up into the air you are sometimes able to see an airplane fly by. Airplanes fly in the troposphere which is the lowest part of the atmosphere. #apesair @franklinlorax

The light pollution from Milwaukee makes the night stars hard to see. Also, the clouds out tonight are made up of water vapor. #apesair @franklinlorax

Since I live in Franklin, this light is being powered by a coal fire plant. The coal is burned to heat up water which turns into steam, which flows into a turbine, which turns a generator, producing electricity. #apesenergy @franklinlorax

Leaving my chromebook unplugged when it has a full battery saves energy. This is because less watts are being used when it is not plugged in. #apesenergy @franklinlorax

These 2 lovely plants are grouped together when it comes to soil! :) Both do not like standing water so permeable soil is best. We treat both plants with a bit of miracle growth as well (a 15-30-15 fertilizer) #apesland @franklinlorax

These trees behind my forest are very important for the environment! If they were to be chopped down using the clear cutting method, we would see more erosion in our backyard and there would be less oxygen admitted into the atmosphere. @franklinlorax #apesland

These rocks in my backyard have their own unique porosity, permeability, and water retention because of their size and spacing. #apesland @franklinlorax

During lunch I buy a recyclable bottle so it can be remade into other bottles, therefore reducing my carbon footprint. @franklinlorax #apespop

Although at the moment it is under about a foot and a half of snow, one way that my family reduces our ecological footprint is through maintaining a small garden in our backyard. This helps reduce carbon emissions from food transportation. #apespop @franklinlorax

@franklinlorax #apeseco My dog Daisy (a K-strategist) can enjoy all 4 season as she lives in a temperate seasonal forest. She can play in the snow during the winter and swim all day in the summer.

#apeseco @franklinlorax Even though right now it is very cold outside, we Wisconites can enjoy all 4 seasons of the year. Winter, summer, fall, and spring all happen here in Franklin.

This is my dog, Emmett. He is 4 years old and is a k-strategist. Dogs like Emmett produce few offspring nurturing them until they grow self-reliant. Unlike r-strategists who have offspring for quantity, k-strategists care for their offspring. #apeseco @franklinlorax

Living in Wisco means all 4 seasons with chilly winters and hot summers, elements of a temperate seasonal forest. #apeseco @franklinlorax

It's important that we continue to create strong run-off systems so impermeable surfaces, such as driveways and roads, don't bring in harmful substances that could affect our most important resource, water. #apeswater @franklinlorax
