Very vague post here. Without naming names, I have grown extremely frustrated with the cost of everything in golf: machines, accessories, equipment, etc. And after the club absorbs these costs it breaks. This isn't limited to one manufacturer or supplier. aggravating
A Toronto daycare that signed on to the national childcare program is now in such financial difficulty that its board is considering closure.
Advocates say its plight reveals flaws in how Ontario funds the system. cbc.ca/news/canada/to… .
@jeffpugel@GCIMagazineGuy Let me know when you want to work full-time for minimum wage. Mechanic for 50% of market value of non-golf mechanic positions. I know many clubs that have have been paying superintendents the same wage for 20 years
Baffling sign of the industry times: Courses with green fees exceeding $500 yet consistently struggle to retain key maintenance employees because of pay. 🤦♂️
Officially my last day at Kamloops Golf and Country Club. I started 21 years ago as a back shop kid and spent the last 11 as Superintendent. It has truly been a 2nd home for me. I grew up here, met my wife here, brought my kids to play here. I will miss it. Tough to say goodbye.
@nickmmark@theindianheart Interesting. In my area of Canada, I have mostly seen propane. Add the ammonia plant and arenas can be scary place for first responders
@theindianheart Not always. Some are diesel, some gas, some propane. Diesel is the dirtiest, but all of those can emit motif oxide though.
If you are gonna drive a truck in a refrigerated building full of exercising people probably ought to get an electric one!

@TheSecretFF999@SimTrainerUK ANY confirmed fire, SCBA is required to be worn/used in our dept. Salvage and overhaul as well. Too many unknown long term effects from exposure on fire calls.
Near miss with an LGV fire, also we really need to get into the habit of wearing BA at these incidents (I know most already do), for those unsure why I suggest listening back to the Twitter Talk with John Lord of @SimTrainerUK on Firefighting Cancers.
