I don’t care about having new license plates in Alberta. I care that we’re two weeks into a teacher strike and my teen should be at school.

Day 2 of the strike Danielle Smith wants and parents and students suffer from - while teachers seek fairness. Who drives an entire public education system into chaos? Someone who doesn't believe in public education.

@MsLutzmann The “worksheets” for my kids Gr 12 subjects are useless. They either have been covered in class already or are appropriate for earlier Grades (aka subjects taken in the past).

Do the parents of Alberta’s students know that the UCP rolled out their new curriculum without any real resources to go with it? Every teacher across the province is having to design every resource they use themselves, on their own time, without pay. #abpoli #abed

The UCP is willing to spend millions of dollars A DAY to fight against better classroom conditions. How many EAs could they hire a year for even a week of strike - I bet it’s more than the 1500 EAs they offered. This isn’t about budget -it’s about power and spite. #AbLeg

@ColleenDeNeve I noticed and put it as a follow-up post. Also interesting to note they mention the words “qualified recipients.” Wonder if they’re going to make it so teachers aren’t eligible for funding.

Some quick math for my #ABleg followers: 825,000 K-12 students (according to gov’t website) X $30/day support (as is being rumoured) = $24,750,000/day X 19 school days in October (from Oct. 6 if strike goes all month) = $470,250,000 But we can’t afford to monitor class sizes.

This isn’t a random media member or emcee. This is the executive director of the premier’s office, who has shown open disdain for dissenting voices for the whole tour. This would be unbecoming of anyone in the media/emcee world. It should also be for the premier’s office. #ABleg
