While Australians will be forced to stay home, again, both Labor and Liberal governments will get off scot-free for their decades of energy policy incompetence. Whilst the war on Iran may be the straw that breaks the camel's back, the real cause of this crisis is decades of incompetent energy policy: - Petroleum reserve: 36 days (instead of 90 days). - Diesel reserve: 34 days (instead of 90 days). - Jet fuel reserve: 32 days (instead of 90 days). - Oil refineries: 2 (down from 8, in mid-2000's). - Oil production: ~200,000 barrels/day (down from ~700,000 b/d). - Base-load electricity generation: 177TWh (down from ~220+TWh, in late-2000's - replaced with low-reliability, intermittent, expensive "renewables" that are highly dependent on external supply chains). Australia's energy policy incompetence has resulted in a country that is highly vulnerable to external forces and events - this is why we are now seeing massive price rises and shortages. NOT primarily because of the war on Iran, but primarily because our governments have made us incredibly vulnerable and fragile.

That's absolutely disgusting!! How can we stop this!? Prison would be hell on earth for this child rapist and paedophile!! A deserved Hades! Why is our government refusing to apply the rule of law? Do we still have a Constitution in this country? Or has the law been replaced by favouring a certain demographic? That was before you released 20% of our emergency stockpiles (around six days’ petrol and five-six days’ diesel) to patch over regional dry-outs. Now bowsers are running empty from Perth to the paddocks, and your headline response is a shiny new Fuel Supply Task Force with a coordinator? This is insulting to every Australian who still uses their brain and common sense. You knew what the US was doing in the Middle East. You watched tensions escalate into war. You knew our fuel security was paper-thin after years of warnings. Yet instead of building real reserves or safeguarding farmers, you’re placating a conditioned populace with bureaucratic theatre: “Don’t panic, we’ve appointed someone.” Let this hit home for every family in Australia: What happens when farmers can’t get diesel? Tractors sit idle. Crops rot unplanted or unharvested. Trucks stop rolling. Livestock can’t reach abattoirs — they starve in the paddocks or get shot on-farm. Meat, milk, fruit and vegetables spoil in fields while supermarket shelves empty. This isn’t hypothetical. Farmers are already days or weeks from empty tanks. Regional shortages are real and worsening. When the food chain collapses, no task force announcement will fill empty plates. Australian children — my children — will stare at them. All because leaders failed to do their job. Australia feeds millions worldwide, yet our own government has left us one month from chaos. The Fuel Task Force isn’t leadership — it’s an insult to every thinking Australian who sees what’s coming. We are not sheep.
