
United Plane Strikes Light Pole on Newark Final Approach United Airlines Flight 169, a Boeing 767 arriving from Venice with 221 passengers, struck a light pole while on final approach to Newark Liberty International Airport, causing minor damage and a ground impact sequence on the New Jersey Turnpike below.
