Images taken by Hubble 20 years apart reveal the Stingray nebula is disappearing. The “youngest known planetary nebula” has drastically faded and changed shape since its first portrait in 1996: bit.ly/3jcYQ0K

Would indeed be ironic if Donald Trump lost the presidential election by a margin of votes equal to the number of his supporters who died from COVID-19, for having refused to wear masks in public.

We detected water on the Moon’s sunlit surface for the first time! This suggests water may be distributed across the lunar surface, and not limited to cold, shadowed places. Tune in live to learn more: nasa.gov/nasalive

This joke needs a good ending, but I can't think of one: "A coronavirus walks into a bar…” ...or shall we all wash our hands of such humor?

#Today Chandra will be studying black holes in #Orion. Nearby in the sky is reflection nebula M78. The nebula's otherwise dark dust is being illuminated by the reflection of starlight radiating from stars embedded deep within.✨

JUST IN: The ⁦@NASAHubble⁩ space telescope took this image of ⁦⁦@CometNEOWISE⁩. The image was just released moments ago. Nice view of the comet’s coma...you are seeing jets of dust and gas shooting out in opposite directions, as the comet’s ice sublimates.

A new visitor from the outer trenches of our #solarsystem is out to dazzle sky-gazers, as it returns from its trip around the Sun to offer a rare display of fireworks. The #cometNEOWISE discovered on 27 March, will be visible in our sky for 20 min for next 20 days from 14 July.
