Today I joined a Day Without Childcare hosted by @SPACEsInAction. The Pay Equity Fund is a critical investment in the District’s littlest residents and I am thankful to Mayor Bowser’s promise to forgo cuts to it in the FY26 budget.

Today is National #DayWithoutChildCare! Quality, affordable child care is essential for families, employers and Wisconsin’s economy. Wisconsin families are counting on their legislators to do better & to help stabilize & support the child care industry.

Today is the Day Without Child Care. Families, providers, educators, and advocates across Wisconsin are calling attention to the urgent crisis in our child care system. Without real investment, working parents are left stranded and kids lose out on the safe, nurturing care they deserve. It’s time to prioritize child care and support the backbone of our economy.

This morning, I stood with parents, caregivers, kids, and community members in Waunakee as we marked the #DayWithoutChildCare. Every family deserves quality, affordable child care, and I’m proud to support our state’s dedicated providers. I thank you all for your hard work!

Today, Lenise Parker, @nafcc State Rep for TN, and Yolanda Gibson of Divine Angels are leading the Day Without Child Care Rally at the TN Capitol. They are joined by Senator Charlane Oliver, and fellow FCC Educators to raise their voices for equity, support, in the child care!

Childcare is one of the biggest cost burdens for American families—right up there with rent or mortgage payments. But it doesn't have to be a luxury. Progressives will keep fighting for universal child care. Congress should fund families, NOT billionaires. #DayWithoutChildCare

This May 12, for #DayWithoutChildCare, we’re raising our voices across NC because the system is in crisis—and families like ours are paying the price. Without affordable childcare, we can’t work. And without work, we can’t provide. That’s the reality for too many of us.
