Sorry @PJTheEconomist I respect your work at IFS but on this one you are completely wrong Renewables are around 90% of new power investment globally - including in the US led by Texas. So real economic decision makers think they are economic in the vast majority of markets

This is utter garbage. I believe in net zero. We need to get there. But renewables are not competitive. That’s why they are subsidised. Fossil fuel markets are highly competitive. It shouldn’t be hard to hold these two thoughts at the same time.
