@Commenter51 @tuvati The actual demographic data doesn’t support it. Russia has even tried to give the Chinese “homesteading” opportunities in the east to settle empty land and I think they ended up getting only a couple thousand people. The Chinese North is emptying and has a 0.7-8 TFR.

Young Washington was amazing. See it now. Just absolutely spectacular. You really need to watch it before its theatrical run ends because this is one of the rare movies that’s worthy of the big screen.

I am predicting an era of chaos and then nations reforming around areas they totally control with different borders

@Commenter51 @tuvati I’m sincerely baffled by that statement. Ethnic Russians remain the number one demographic in the Far East and China’s North East is experiencing the largest demographic decline in all of China. Russia is simply more likely to expand than shrink.

Increasingly convinced this is just learned helplessness.
It’s a 4 hour drive and costs 45 dollars with a 30mpg car. 90% of Americans would rather drive themselves, in the comfort of their own car, with the freedom to stop anywhere for any reason.
