Hi there, thank you for reporting this to us. I have just spoken with station staff, this morning the event organisers and police instructed the police to be closed due to the festival. Effectively this has given no time for station staff or control to organise announcements for this.
Station staff are trying to at least find a way to partially open the car park but this may not be possible depending on what the police say. However the station car park will be reopen tomorrow ^TT

@GNRailUK - Event on near Hatfield Station today (Slam Dunk). Station car park is normally open when it happens (with access from north only), but we've been told today it is closed - no warnings/info for passengers at station / online etc. Have seen some unhappy passengers!

@moocher Hi there unfortunately you would need to use this at off peak times. It will need to be before 16:30 or after 19:00 ^TT
English

@Ralph_Hapschatt @BBCLookEast That potential vehicle isn't guided - it has a driver and can overtake in case of need. Final vehicle/format won't be chosen until later in the process. As shown in image, one key constraint on the route is through central St Albans - particularly up Holywell Hill to those lights
English

@BBCLookEast It's a guided bus. We have one running between Leigh and Manchester (guided to Salford, runs on road between Salford and Manchester, and Atherton to Tyldesley). The buses is a former railway. Side rails catch a horizontal wheel under the bus to steer it. It's crap.
English

@Wingman1882 @GNRailUK The faster GN/TL trains share the slow line with the Moorgate trains in normal running. There are few crossing points between slow / fast. If trains are queued, they can get trapped - either direct impact or preventing trains from getting to their start point at WGC to go south.
English

@GNRailUK Why is it that incidents that occur north of WGC affect trains between WGC and Moorgate?

Travelling via London St Pancras this summer?
Lifts to the Thameslink platforms will be out of service from 15 June until about mid-September for refurbishment.
Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.

English

@1066shrimprail Yes - timings are already set to allow for the additional
stop.
English

Is this effectively saying that the existing Brighton Cambridge Thameslink services will make an additional stop at the new station?

@AndyKWilkinson @NetworkRailAng @transportgovuk @GreaterAngliaPR @GNRailUK @CrossCountryUK @CamBioCampus They had to do a lot of enabling work eg realigning the tracks to make room for the central platforms - see #opening" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">networkrail.co.uk/our-work/our-r… for more info
English

@NetworkRailAng @transportgovuk @GreaterAngliaPR @GNRailUK @CrossCountryUK @CamBioCampus All for a quarter of a Billion Great British Pounds...I agree a station there was very much needed. But how come it cost us tax payers so much?
English

The @transportgovuk has announced the opening date for #CambridgeSouth, the first Great British Railways (GBR) branded station, will be Sunday 28 June. 🎉We can't wait to welcome the first passengers through the doors.

10 years ago, we noticed a problem.
Whenever you’d change buses, even minutes after boarding the first bus, you’d get charged another fare. It impacted everyone, but disproportionately affected working class Londoners. That wasn’t right. So we introduced the Hopper fare so that if you change buses within one hour of the first, you are only charged for your first tap.
It has been transformative. To date, more than a *BILLION* ‘hops’ have been made. Londoners making just two hops a week will have cumulatively saved around £1,500.
I’m incredibly proud of the Hopper and today we’ve announced a major enhancement for the summer.
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan@MayorofLondon
NEW: we're supersizing the Hopper fare to put money back into Londoners' pockets this summer. Look out for our fun 🐸 buses.
English

@TheMurkyDepths Hopefully the coming together of TOCs and NR will help move this type of issue forward - although focus looks to be reducing subsidy.
English

@TheMurkyDepths The division of responsibilities in the stations there are very complex between GN/NR/TfL eg GN have platforms, but believe opposite walls of tunnels are NR. Corridors vary. GN did up (eg re-tiled) most, if not all, of the parts that they look after a few years ago.
