@BlabberingC It's not hard to replace your own, but you will probably need about $400 in equipment to ensure it's done right, so it tends to cost the same the first time.

@DoingFedTime @zacbowden Agreed as it only keeps getting worse, I've been fully Linux, and Android on all my devices since 2015 even at work where I told my boss I'd quit if I was forced to use Windows again, they backed off, & I don't regret it one bit.

@zacbowden MS lost me in 2015 w/Win 10 being a resource hog, & the update that deleted files I was working on off my main SSD(I had backups but a little behind), so I've been on Linux, & Android ever since, & so for me there's nothing they could ever do to win me back.

@Shivam25mishra Mint, but I personally don't us any Ubuntu based distros, & for the last few years I've been using Manjaro Gnome, & XFCE w/good success, but they are having some dev. infighting right now, so we will see what comes of it.

Which Linux distro is beginners friendly? > Ubuntu > Linux Mint > Arch Linux > Fedora

@MakeAugusta @strangepartscom With Apple moving so much of their production to from China, to India, I've got a feeling they are just making sure they can keep the quality control up for the next few years. I've also got a feeling that might be why the Macbook Neo is so simple in design.

@silv3rnode @techknight2 Yep plus it's 32bit, and not 64bit. What I'm really wondering how hard is it hitting the page file on his SSD when it runs out of system ram, which can lead to early flash burn out.

@techknight2 Winamp ran on a 233MHz Pentium with a single core... just saying it's not exactly out of reach for something with multiple cores at 20x the clock speed.

I am actually impressed with the MacBook Neo... Running two OSes at once with Winamp and milk drop on top

@Itsfoss Also if a big company like HP, Lenovo, Dell, etc.. did go all in on installing Linux on their systems building in high volumes telling MS to go shove it, then it would be cheaper, Just buy the laptop that meets your budget/needs, & install the distro you want.

Why do Linux laptops cost so much? With Windows out of the picture, should they not cost less? But you look at preloaded Linux laptops, and they are more expansive than similar spec Windows laptops. The same is the case with Linux mini-PCs. Your thoughts?

@Itsfoss It's because most of the companies selling Laptops with a Linux distro pre-installed are smaller companies that don't push the quantities of the big boys, so it coast more per unit, but you can get some Lenovo laptops w/Ubuntu pre-installed(it should be Mint, or Manjaro IMO).

@TheMekon_Venus As a Linux user I stick to onboard audio, bluetooth, or plug n' play USB solutions as so many soundcards have windows only software to make them fully functional.

I guess there is a very specific market for this. But.. then if you’re really caring about audio.. is this mid range what you’d go for? Or is there super high end options?
