A lot of people thought Augusta was Tiger’s best chance to ever win again, it’s wasn’t, it was always the Open Championship for multiple reasons, he can hit shots like this, slower greens mean fewer 3 putts and no one has more knowledge about playing links golf. Based on what he’s done so far this year it’s kind of looking like now or never. His swing looks really good in practice.

12 years ago I played an all nighter 5-5 PLO session at the rio and lost all the remaining cash I had brought to Vegas me. I had already bricked 25 events that summer and as I was walking out of the casino at 5am with my roommate I asked him to borrow 1k so I could play the event that started at noon that day. He was like “come on man what are you doing let’s get out of here.” I said no I want to play so he gave me 1k. I asked him if he wanted to buy any action and he said “Fuck no, look at you man” I got to the tournament an hour late and literally picked up Aces my first hand and doubled up. A few days later I was playing 3 handed with Joe Kuether and 60 year old Brazilian whale for half a million dollars. Joe had most of the chips in play and got it all in pre flop with the best hand vs the whale. At the time I was rooting for him to bust him so I could get a 6 figure pay jump but the whale sucked out. I quickly realized this was the best thing that could have happened because now the whale had most of the chips and Joe was short. He busted not long after and now I was playing heads up for 500k and a bracelet vs a guy who very well might have been playing his first tournament ever. My wife had flew in and all my friends in poker were there sweating, a bunch of whom I had sold pieces to. My opponent also had a massive rail complete with Brazilian flags and specialized chants. It was July 4th and it felt like the World Cup for degenerates or some shit. I was grinding him down and feeling amazing when the floor announced we had to stop play for the night. It was crushing cuz I really had him on the ropes and was completely juiced on Adrenaline but rules were rules. I came back the next day and he mounted a big comeback. I remember my boy Tmoney called me on break and was like “yo do you wanna ask him to look at numbers? Youre basically playing a 20bb sit and go for 180k” but the thought had never crossed my mind, and if this Brazilian wasn’t going to ask for a chop I certainly wasn’t going to be the one to do it. Before I knew it he had me on the ropes but I kept my head on straight and eventually was able to win the tournament. What a fucking feeling, have never experienced anything remotely close to it in poker and probably never will again. I have no idea if I would still be playing if I didn’t sun run that puppy but 12 years later here we are.

@ProGolfCritic @HankHaney There are so many of these second tier tournaments now it really does seem like there are two different PGA tours from week to week.

Majors are harder to win now💯. PGAT events easier now. Also any time you can’t cherry pick events & you’re forced to play against the same field for 13 events on courses you can’t pick & choose=harder to win. If Bryson could pick some low hanging PGAT events (Detroit? Deere?) he’d have more wins.

It is what it is, so how many wins today on either the PGA Tour or the LIV is equal to one win when Tiger was dominating back in the day?

@HankHaney It seems as though there are so many quicken mortgage tournaments on tour now where none of the top players are participating. It really seems like there's a major and minor league from week to week on tour.
