Black smoke was an hour and a half later than expected. We’ll probably only find out after the conclave why: spoiled ballots forcing revote, medical emergency, stove malfunction …. Many possible reasons.

Maybe some of you knew this, I did not. Gammarelli is out and Mancinelli on Borgo Pio is in! They will be making the white cassocks for the Conclave. Mancinelli made cassocks for the last three popes and was then asked to make the small, medium, and large white cassocks that will be in the Room of Tears when the new pope is elected. What an honor this must be! Apparently he’s already done some interviews, so this isn’t a scoop, but it’s news to me and probably most of you too. 😂
