Got the toddler to sleep after showing her (again) that dada is still not hiding in the spare room... then checked the internet to find his flight is delayed. I presume it will end up cancelled since 00:45 seems too late for a plane to be allowed to land!

The children who survived in the Columbian jungle for 40 days? One was 11 months ! The older ones must have been brilliant. It's all just incredible isn't it?

When I asked what was in there she said the smallest, most confused-sounding "dada?" And I think my heart actually broke 😭

Jan has been away since Tues night & today was the 1st time he couldn't video call us. Tonight small one didn't want to sleep then when we came out to get a bottle she made me go in the spare room (also Jan's office)... (cont.)

@Lynn_Nothegger I have to go into the office tomorrow. I'll give the 15 month old breakfast and she gets lunch at Kita but Jan will be responsible for afternoon snack and dinner. I think he would be offended if I told him what to feed her!

@Lynn_Nothegger I had AOL - our very first internet at home was from one of those AOL CDs that were constantly coming through the door! I did also have a Yahoo e-mail address at some point though. And I still have my hotmail one I set up specifically for MSN messenger.

@asausagehastwo It was 22ºC here on Monday - so basically British summer 😂. Then we had the thunderstorm all night followed by rain all day yesterday. Today we have bright sunshine again but only 9ºC.

@elizavetaka I'm in the West and when I had a cold (not Covid!) recently I wore a mask. I would have stayed home but I didn't want my daughter to miss physiotherapy again.

I don’t understand how ppl in the west are apparently all unmasked all the time, and it’s cool to go everywhere even if you’re sick + symptomatic, also unmasked. I mean… isn’t it kind of disgusting? Why would you want to go cough or sneeze on other ppl? Ugh.

@jallas Thanks. He's home and she's sleeping (for now). I think she's only had 1 full week of Kita so far this year!

Was hoping we could manage a full week of nursery this week but out of nowhere baby has a temperature of 38.8ºC. She was fine earlier apart from trying to chew her fingers off/bite my neck (4 teeth coming through).

@jallas We don't have that but we have a rainbow stacker from Tenderleaf and so far my daughter just tales 2nd pieces and bangs them together 😅. She only recently worked out how to put the rings on her stacker toy though so it's early days.

@AliceR_88 Aww, I can't wait for the talking. Mine currently says "mama" and "more". She understands loads though!

@Confuzzledom He is going through quite an adorable phase, I love that he can talk more now (and we can understand him!)

My toddler’s current favourite activity is to go to Lidl, use the ‘tiny trolley’ and buy pretzels. Staying true to his German beginnings!
