This. Collections departments have been gutted in recent decades - staffing cut, supply budgets cut, and salaries haven't kept pace with inflation (or other depts!). Budgets are ethics on display. Museums talk about caring for items in perpetuity, but they don't fund the work.

#hearingloss sucks. Between #tinnitus & #hyperacusis it's loud as shit, then your brain is trying to compensate so you're constantly exhausted, and asking people to repeat themselves constantly is frustrating. It's been a long loud day.
