I *totally* disagree with this framing of tech criticism or analyses of harms as pessimism. Critics are the realists, & we lean optimist because criticism is an effort to improve. "Let's focus on the positive" isn't optimism: it's resignation to harms—and thus quite pessimistic.
@CterminiPhD Sometimes I want to write a grant but can’t and then I realize that the ‘block’ is my brain telling me I need more information for the pieces to come together. Then I read papers rather than write. Back and forth until it clicks.
