@owenjonesjourno In 2016 you wrote that “male violence against women is rife” and cited 1.2 million women suffering domestic violence a year + 85,000 rapes. Now you’re claiming the risk to women in women’s toilets is “extremely low”. Which one is it? You can’t have it both ways.
Owen Jones@owenjonesjourno

The risk of a trans woman being abused or assaulted in the men’s toilet per visit = extremely high. The risk of a woman being abused or assaulted in the women’s toilet per visit = extremely low.

@labourpress Wes Streeting once tweeted he wanted to “push Jan Moir under a train”. When it resurfaced he apologised, called it “deeply shameful”… and Labour immediately promoted him to Shadow Health Secretary and then Health Secretary. You kept him. You defended him. You gave him one of the biggest jobs in government. But when Reform does the exact same thing you suddenly discover “principles”? Spare us the selective outrage.

Fair points, but let’s be realistic. Labour has closed some hotels and redirected part of foreign aid, but the UK was still spending over £8 billion a year on asylum accommodation at its peak, and foreign aid was running at around £15 billion before the cuts. The real waste is still there, billions on net zero targets, DEI schemes, and failed projects. Giving people their own money back through tax cuts isn’t what causes inflation. It’s the government printing money and wasting it that does. Reform’s plan is to cut the actual waste so we can afford proper defence and lower taxes at the same time. Simple as.

@ContraViral @ZiaYusufUK Where do you get your news? Labour has closed most hotels down. Labour cut foreign aid for defence. So how will you pay for defence? How will you for the loss of £5bn from giving away OT for free? Giving people extra money is inflationary.

The Tories were useless, no doubt about it. But Labour have been in power less than two years and already made everything worse, more boats, higher taxes, and still covering up grooming gangs. Jenrick left because he saw the mess and wants to fix it. You lot are still defending the people who broke the country. Get a grip.

@ContraViral @TedUrchin That is utter codswallop . Time you people stopped blaming Labour for the issues the Conservatives created and limited company headed by one of the architects of the mess that was created is not going to fix the problems he helped cause.

Giving people more of their own money to spend isn’t going to cause inflation, it’s the government printing money and wasting billions that does that. As for how we afford it, we stop pissing money away on foreign aid, net zero madness, and putting up illegals in hotels. Simple as. Reform isn’t about free money, it’s about letting hard-working people keep what they earn.

I’m a Yorkshire lad. I graft, I pay my taxes, and I’m sick of watching my country get sold off and my wages taxed to death while politicians lecture me about “inclusion”. Reform is the only party that actually speaks for people like me.

Angela Rayner wants to ban social media for under-16s. But she’s fine with 16-year-olds voting. So they’re not mature enough for TikTok, but they’re mature enough to decide the future of the country? Clown world.
The Telegraph@Telegraph

Angela Rayner has urged Sir Keir Starmer to ban social media for children aged under 16. The former deputy prime minister said Sir Keir should “just make a decision and do it” because it seemed “so clear that that’s what you need to do” 👇 telegraph.co.uk/politics/2026/…

Labour and the left are losing their minds over Reform’s no tax on overtime policy. They’re calling it a “gimmick”. Meanwhile they’re happy to tax hard-working people into the ground while handing benefits to people who’ve just arrived. Make it make sense.

🚨Important policy announcement: Britain was built on the hard graft of people who go the extra mile. A Reform government will ABOLISH income tax on hours worked beyond 40 hours a week, for incomes below £75,000 a year. It’s time to REWARD hard work, not punish it! 🇬🇧

Labour MPs are suddenly crying about grooming gangs now the sentences are out. Where were these tears when they were covering it up for years to protect “community cohesion”? Absolute hypocrites. The British public won’t forget.

@Truthseekerrr99 @RealDonKeith Reform’s priority is stopping the boats and deporting criminals, the things that are actually destroying this country right now. You’re just throwing random shit at the wall hoping something sticks. Farage and Reform are focused on what actually matters.

Reform has a clear plan, stop the boats, deport criminals first, then sort the rest. They’re not changing their mind, they’re being realistic about what can actually be done in government. And members aren’t going down, the party is growing because people are sick of the same old lies from Labour and the Tories.

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all system that works perfectly for everyone, some jobs pay overtime, others give TOIL instead. But at least Reform’s policy is heading in the right direction by rewarding people who actually graft harder. And it’s not discrimination, different jobs have different arrangements.

@ContraViral @ZiaYusufUK What other policies do those others benefit from? I work 60hrs on a 40hr contract. I’d be quids in. But it’s a gimmick and I’d rather pay tax to be honest. But my wife doesn’t have OT as she’s local gov so has TOIL. That’s discriminating against her.

UC is already tapered, you lose some benefits when you earn more. Plus, plenty of people on £45k–£50k won’t do overtime because they get pushed into the 40% tax bracket and keep hardly any of it. This policy fixes both problems. There’s no one rule that fits all, but it’s a proper start to making work pay again.

It’s not a gimmick, it’s a proper incentive to reward people who graft harder. Not everyone has overtime available, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t reward those who do. Part-time workers and those on fixed contracts can still benefit from other policies. This is about making work pay for the people who actually put the hours in.

@ContraViral @ZiaYusufUK Reform wants a gimmick to get them to the Makerfield by election. It’s discriminatory. Not everyone has OT available. Some none at all and it’s paid at single rate, others TOIL instead. Then there’s those on less than 40hr contracts. Part time workers. What about all those ?

UK productivity has barely grown in 15 years. Countries that properly reward overtime, like the US, have significantly higher output per worker. The idea that people will suddenly start dragging work out is nonsense — proper incentives make people work smarter and harder, not slower. Reform isn’t against workers’ rights, they're against the kind that protect the lazy while hammering the ones who graft. Simple as.

@ContraViral @ZiaYusufUK What about workplace productivity nosediving because workers are dragging work out for free OT? Contacts being lessened so they don’t get to 40hrs. Remember, Reform are against workers rights. So where does that fit with this overtime policy? Just think, it’s not hard.
