@bnicholsonsmith If the Jays go 35-25 the rest of the way that’s 95. And that would make the franchise record 3856-3855. One game over .500

The rule that the "left" learned too late in Canada is your first and only ask to maintain a minority govt is election reform to obliterate first past the post and introduce proportional representation. #CanadaVotes

@jumpingleaves1 @JohnLorinc @fordnation There are stats. Why don’t you look them up? Collisions on Danforth reduced by 50%. On Bloor, conflicts between all road users (drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians) reduced by 44%.
All of this is public information.
And these are the safety improvements Ford wants to take away.
English

@JohnLorinc @fordnation Do you have any statistics on bike accidents before and after the installation of bike lanes?
English

#topoli #onpoli There's a cyclist riding around in Toronto right now who will die because of @fordnation's ridiculous and politically motivated decisions. That person just don't know it yet. Who will it be? Your child? Your parent? Your neighbour? Your friend? Criminal.

@fordnation Stay in your lane, Ford! You didn’t get elected as Mayor of Toronto, stop trying to take that role. Also, did you notice there are other 443 municipalities of Ontario? It seems you haven’t with the obsession you have with TO.
English

@roman_corsetti @ColinDMello They've already got the next scapegoat queued up, and it isn't a surprise:
Immigrants.
If you thought the hate @fordnation stirred up against people who just want safer streets was bad, that was nothing. It's going to get uglier.
English

@ColinDMello Question for the premier: when congestion is not magically resolved by ripping out bike lanes, what are you going to blame next? PS, remember a time when the conservatives were actually fiscally conservative???
English

NEW: As first reported by Global News, the Ford government has begun the process of removing bike lanes from three Toronto streets: Yonge st., Bloor St., University Ave.

@chiweethedog @KFILE I swear I thought they were singing “Still pregnant!”
English

@Fredenburg55726 @TorontoStar Cyclists have already paid for the lanes - they pay for roads just like drivers (and, for that matter, pedestrians) do.
English

@TorontoStar Cyclists should be licensed and have insurance. The license fee should pay for the bike lanes.

English

@FawcettAdrian @PrabSarkaria @TheThanigasalam @CHogarthPC Like in Montreal? Where there's a big separated bike lane on Rue Saint-Denis?
But please, show us in Toronto the "side street" route that gets cyclists across the Humber, or the Don, or Mimico creek, or the rail corridors, or the 401, or the 427...

Why can’t AI do symmetry?!
The horns are lopsided. The pillars are offset.
If there’s one thing we learned from drawing that S over and over again on our grade 8 binders, it’s that symmetry matters!!
(But yes, Kamala looks badass)

This just makes me want to vote for even more.

@TorontoStar It’s the moon. That’s what to expect.
The moon is great. Gives us tides, nice to look at. We don’t need made-up nonsense like “super blue moon” to appreciate it.
English

Toronto will see a rare super blue moon tonight. Here’s what to expect

@BonnieCrombie What’s your plan to cooperate and coordinate with @MaritStiles before the election to stop vote splitting? Because without one, you’re going to hand Ford another majority with about 39% of the vote.
English

After over six years, Ford is failing. He’s in it for his rich insiders — not for Ontario families.
We’ll get Ontario back on track with a plan that:
🏥 Fixes our healthcare
🎒 Improves our schools
♻️ Protects our environment
📈 And grows our economy.

@normsworld With FPTP Ford knows he’s safe. The bums aren’t going to get thrown out without cooperation and coordination between @MaritStiles and @BonnieCrombie.
This was clear before the last election, and it’s clear now.

It's becoming clear that litigation and investigation will not make the @fordnation Government reverse course on the Science Centre and Ontario Place. The only answer: throw the bums out. My latest blog post explains. sandfordborins.com/2024/07/30/the…

@SiddallJoe @benshulman7 I guess my thought was that if their reads of situations are of higher quality - and the positive results back this up - they might have confidence to gradually expand the envelope of go vs no-go situations.
Thanks for the reply.
English

@CookieInTO @benshulman7 can’t just run for the sake of running..lots of variables…pitcher/tendencies/catcher/score/inning etc.
English

Hey @SiddallJoe and @benshulman7, you guys were talking about the #BlueJays base-stealing efficiency yesterday. There’s an expression in poker: if none of your bluffs are getting called, you’re not bluffing enough. Should the Jays be more aggressive?
English

@BtcManhattan @CanadianPolling We certainly did!
And that’s why Toronto wasn’t built on a fault line. Thanks for the lesson, San Francisco!
English

@CanadianPolling Did we learn nothing with San Francisco?
