2026 Sports in Kansas 4A Boys Player of the Year and All-Classes Player of the Year: Cooper Carr, Baldwin Cooper Carr capped off one of the most complete careers in Kansas, leading Baldwin to its first-ever boys basketball state championship under head coach Don Blanchat while earning Sports in Kansas All-Classes Player of the Year honors. The 6’3 senior averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3.1 steals per game, impacting the game in every way while leading Baldwin through a challenging path that included knocking off multiple undefeated teams on the way to the title. Baldwin also split with 5A state champion Bonner Springs during the regular season, handing Bonner its only loss of the year and showcasing the strength at the top of their league. “This season was one of much adversity but also resilience,” Carr said. “The guys battled through injuries and tough situations and came out of it state champs.” Carr leaves Baldwin as the program’s all-time leader in points, assists and steals, finishing a remarkable four-year career as a starter with four sub-state championships and a state title. After being named the 2025 Sports in Kansas Non-Senior Player of the Year, Carr elevated his game even further this season, separating himself as the top players in Kansas regardless of class. He was also a Sports in Kansas Top 5 All-Classes selection. Teammate Leo Schoenberger was also one of the best in Kansas, regardless of class. A standout multi-sport athlete, Carr is also Baldwin’s all-time leading scorer in soccer, showcasing his versatility and competitiveness across multiple sports. “My dad is my role model,” Carr said, a reflection of the foundation behind his success on and off the court. “I give all glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” Carr said. “I wouldn’t be the man I am without finding Him.” Committed to Northwest Missouri State, Carr leaves behind one of the most decorated and impactful careers in Kansas high school basketball.
