@CampusVid2 With the players available, I don’t think playing 3 at the back would be the worst idea, or at least an option for a mid-game tactical transition. We have a lot of CB depth, and the lack of RB’s outside of Kimmich suggests possible RWB use of Leweling

@_Pat_Murphy I really hope it’s a back 3, with Arfsten and Hererra as wingbacks and Nariman in a more advanced position that’s more familiar to him. Playing Moreira at LB and trapping Hererra behind Nariman (who is in an unnatural position) is not ideal here.

Going to be interesting to see how this lines up for Courtois first #Crew96 team.

@CrewFanCouncil I’d be curious if the vision is revert to what worked in the past, continue tactics with a new leader or head in a new direction. Courtois doesn’t have success beyond a borderline D3 developmental team, so it’s hard to say which way he’ll steer the ship

@vcatalina96 If big clubs can’t get promoted in repeated attempts, then there’s no argument to say that they will be any more likely to stay up. Tons of big clubs have been relegated recently. They might have more support, but club size doesn’t always translate to on field performance

I have no problem with Elversberg or small clubs in general and yes, it’s a beautiful story for them to get promoted. But those big clubs in Bundesliga 2 seriously need to get their act together. It’s no use for the Bundesliga as a product and ultimately the corresponding clubs themselves if you know there is one team that will 99.98% go down again. Happened with Fürth couple years back, Kiel. Heidenheim had that season where they finished 8th, fair enough. But it was the same for them this season as well. And most likely it will happen to Elversberg too. We need the Hannovers, Herthas and Nürnbergs back in the Bundesliga, because they have the potential to stay up long-term and compete.

Julian Nagelsmann is considering calling up Manuel Neuer for the World Cup in concrete terms. Neuer is in the preliminary 55-man squad that was sent to FIFA on Monday. Talks between the goalkeeper and the coach have taken place. No final decision yet, but it is expected soon [@Plettigoal]

@THEChrisKessell @CanadaSoccerEN I do agree with this, but this hasn’t happened in 7 years (14 in MLS), so I wouldn’t treat it as an ongoing issue. A professional domestic league didn’t really exist at the time, and none have joined US based leagues since the CPL started play.

I think it makes more sense for @CanadaSoccerEN to stop allowing Canadian teams to play in US based leagues.
