@johnny_utah @lordofthegray No argument here that Stark is basically a villain (we've covered that a couple of times, actually). While Rogers is a hero, there are subtle issues with his origins that, as you say, do not hold the same water in a modern story. Sam Wilson is the perfect successor, however.

@CornerofFilm @lordofthegray Iron Man, despite the hero white washing, is the epitome of selfish, arrogant, privileged, self-excused, Randian capitalism. He's not a hero and doesn't want to be... Genius, Billion, Philanthropist... He could end hunger in a 3rd world country for the cost of one set of armor.

@johnny_utah @lordofthegray True about pre-serum Rogers being a hero, but the example the serum sets is exactly why characters like Stark feel morally justified in hoarding their tech (i.e. their powers). As a result, there's an in-universe narrative of "worthiness" that causes massive problems.

@CornerofFilm @lordofthegray He thinks his money and tech can fix any problem. Builds an army of armored suits only he controls to police the country? Wants everyone registered so he can track them? Hmmm, so vastly rich, spoiled, cocky hedonist, underachieving, Daddy's boy vs. Poor, humble, brave, and pure?

Now (finally) watching: The Fellowship of the Ring: Extended Edition! Those who've seen both, how does it compare with the theatrical cut?

It only took 28 years for Heat to make it off the watchlist! Turns out, it's pretty good...

in honor of 'Scooby Doo' turning 21 years old, here's a thread with all the adult jokes/deleted material that would've made the movie even better:
