Did Luther add words to the Bible? Romans 3:28 doesn’t say “faith alone” in the Greek or Latin… But Martin Luther added “allein” (alone) in his German translation Ohhhhhhh the Desperation💧

This verse is very stressful for the Sola Fide Crowd…. James 2:14 “What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?” Can it SAVE him! What you think?💧

Anyone who affirms “faith alone”, contradicting Jesus, St. Paul, AND St. James, doesn’t know what a Christian IS.

@CatholicDrip___ If it was by works, then it was not a gift. There is no grace if we have to earn it - which is impossible. Catholics, do you really believe that you would be good enough to just make the cut? Because the good enough rewuired is perfection. And none of us have been perfect.

Then do you care to explain Jesus own words: John 6: 28-29 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” John 6:40 -- For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day"

Jesus: "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day" (John 6:40). Paul: "However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness." (Romans 4:5) So does it mean we can just pervert grace and use legalism because we are saved? Bo no means. And here James comes in. He explains that a true saving faith produces good works, not that we are saved by him __________________ It might seem that Paul and James contradict each other, but in Greek the word Justified are different in the passages. For Paul, he uses the legal terminology. As in we are legally justified in-front of God. James uses a term that is closer to "Shown To Be". So he stating we show that we are saved through are works, not that works save us. __________________ If you have counter arguments, please address John 6:40 first, as this is actually Christ speaking.

@CorrieJanse @BillArnoldTeach Protestantism is a myriad of churches, many of which embrace what is popular. It's why protestants shop around for churches that suit them.

Here is the passage, which words in this passage imply we need a priest: 16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

@JLee2028 You claimed that prots use Greek and not Latin. But the Latin Vulgate translation didn't appear until 405AD - not only that, the word used in that translation is 'Perfectus'. You have to look into this translation and understand it for yourself. You will have to account to the Lord personally on the day of Judgement. So read scripture and use it to check if what your priest and other Christians say is true. Go back to the Kione Greek or even the Latin Vulgate translation if you must.

Oh, brother, you don't know about how the Catholic Church changed translations and burned people who translated it accurately? Go fact-check me on the following, I dare you: The greek for this text is: "...ἵνα ἄρτιος ᾖ ὁ τοῦ θεοῦ ἄνθρωπος, πρὸς πᾶν ἔργον ἀγαθὸν ἐξηρτισμένος." You can find a direct translation here: biblehub.com/interlinear/2_… The word ἄρτιος is the one in question here. This word means not just complete, but -> perfectly fitted for a specific purpose If you are worried that this goes against church doctrine, I urge you to pray to God directly and plead for the truth so that you may know for certain.

ρτιος (artios) is a Greek adjective meaning fitted, complete, sound, or proficient, signifying that someone or something is perfectly suited and fully equipped for a specific function or purpose. It implies being ready, capable, and in good working order, often used to describe being "complete" or "perfectly qualified"

It's a fallible collection of infallible books. But it is sufficient according to the bible: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." Here you can clearly see we are COMPLETE and THOROUGHLY equipped for every good work.

It's not a man-made claim. It is literally in the bible: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

No protestants argue that works arent important. But faith is the Root and work is the fruit. Faith that saves comes first and produces fruit. At the point of faith is where you start trusting and loving God because you truly understand what it is he has done on the cross. Plus when Jesus asked how we are saved, this is his response: "Jesus answered them, ‘This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.’"

@CorrieJanse @CatholicDrip___ No Catholic will deny that faith is absolutely essential for salvation, it is the pre-requisite to all things, and works alone cannot save us. But likewise, faith without good works is empty, false and self-serving. Christ tells us so himself:
