I don't think it's obvious to people anymore that terms like "social murder" can't be conflated with physical murder, which is one person intentionally ending the life of another. Academia loves to play with words like this, and the algorithms love it too. Plus Americans have correctly noticed that elites will screw them over for a cheap buck, like Purdue Pharma. But to be clear: You can believe Brian Thompson willfully profited off perpetuating a system that causes suffering and death. That is bad but it's not the definition of murder, which involves one person purposefully snuffing out another's life, because you slap "social" in front of it. These inflated definitions will ricochet right back at the left: One could argue climate extremism is "social murder" because farmers commit suicide or die prematurely from economic hardship. Again, it's bad but it's not "murder." It's why Trump was very wrong to claim an election was literally "stolen" — people reacted with violence, as many would if they really believed Congress was outright stealing an election. ("Rigged" vs "stolen" is a very meaningful distinction.)
