I am home after 19 harrowing days in hospital where I stopped breathing after surgery and spent 10 days in the ICU. My hair is growing back patchily after chemo made me bald. I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck and can only walk slowly. That was hard but necessary to remove the cancer in my stomach, so I don’t really have a stomach anymore. My weirdest symptom today is “an impending sense of doom” every time I eat. It’s a thing apparently. I hope that goes away before I develop an eating disorder. Anyway I’m so happy to be alive and with my family again! Thanks to everyone for their support and kind words. ❤️

@CosgrovesCosmos @gianlucabelgra1 Sunon is a very not special OEM fan. They're in everything. Guessing ZWO runs the fan well below the full rated speed threshold to reduce vibrations and keep the peltier in spec

W/ my project to convert my AP130 platform to the AP155, I began to dial in the scope. scope config. Then - loud fan noise & physical vibrations from my ASI2600MM-Pro! Investigation showed the fan had thrown a blade! Replacement is 3+ weeks out! #Astrophotography

@GrumpyOldAstro Just have to nibble away from two of the opposing blades carefully. Piece of Cake! Nothing like a little out-of-the-box (or, in this case, out-of-my-mind) thinking! 😃

@CosgrovesCosmos With a 7 blade fan, I don't think you can break one off and maintain balance. With 6 opposing blades maybe, but probably not 7.

@xj650t Yes - there are many there - but choosing one with the right airflow and low vibration - that part isn't clear to me (never having dealt with fans before!)

@CosgrovesCosmos Those are just standard fans you can order on Amazon, AliExpress or your favourite online tax evading store.

@erfmufn I like the way you think! I used to work with an engineer who would solve a problem by introducing a new known problem whose effect would cancel out the original problem. He called it the "Principle of Compensating Disadvantages." Kind of elegant in its own twisted way! 😃

@planetdeimos It's 50x50x10. There are a lot of them out there. But which ones move sufficient air and don't induce vibration? First time I have had to replace a fan, so I am attempting to navigate these issues...

@CosgrovesCosmos Looks like a standard 40mm fan, should be easy to source one

@suiyoru05 Yes - I have checked multiple sources, and all are shipping directly from China.
