If you believe socialism works, why are you waiting? Redistribute your own wealth. Get a group of like-minded individuals and pool your wealth. Create an online community where you all work and everyone pays their income into a pool which is evenly distributed. AI is available to teach you things like the standard definition of socialist and how it applies. In other words, it helps you not sound like a retard. No — neither the U.S. Postal Service nor Social Security is socialism under the standard definition. Socialism means collective or state ownership and control of the means of production (factories, capital, major industries), usually with central planning. The U.S. has never operated that system. USPS It’s a government-owned corporation that delivers mail and packages, with a limited monopoly on letters and a universal service obligation. It is funded mainly by postage fees, not general taxes, and competes with private companies on packages. This is a public utility/government enterprise inside a mixed capitalist economy — not socialism. Social Security It’s a mandatory pay-as-you-go social insurance program. Payroll taxes from current workers fund benefits for current retirees, the disabled, and survivors. The government runs it and redistributes income, but it does not own the means of production. The rest of the economy remains private and market-driven. It’s social insurance / a safety-net program (closer to social democracy) than classical socialism. Both involve government involvement and redistribution. Calling every public service or entitlement “socialism” stretches the word so far it loses meaning. The U.S. has had a postal service since the founding and Social Security since 1935 while remaining a predominantly capitalist country.
